More evidence that the TSA is getting out of control... (Ron Paul said it best)
Seriously???? The TSA stops some one with a devise that to the best of there knowledge. Is an unknown device. Would you put YOUR life in that guys hands? Where where you during 911 or have you forgotten?
Every time I travel I'm damn glad the TSA is there and staying vigilant. You never know when the next threat will come or in what form it will come.
Believe me, we are at war and this war is not against a country, it's against fanatics that would kill you to make their point and they don't care about you or what you think.
Next time your inconvenienced remember why they are there...then NEVER FORGET. And try thanking them.
Supposedly
you have forgotten the Fourth Amendment of the United States Constitution and all of the out of control antics of the TSA, such as stripping children with disabilities naked, groping people in public, and denying people basic decency because of cultural characteristics.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fourth_Ame ... nstitutionU.S. vs David effectively allowed TSA (and now DHS) to overwrite the 4th Amendment but without any sort of administrative review or check and balance system. I doubt the Framers would approve in current format. So no, I have not forgotten about 9/11 and no, I have not forgotten we are at war, but I have also not forgotten we are a democracy and that any and all authority should have a system of oversight, which the TSA/DHS does not have.
Show me a fair means of administrative review that can look at TSA action and rule if it was fair or not in regards to freedom given up while flying for the sake of everyone's safety versus basic human/civil rights. No, you don't know when the next threat will come but there is a limit and it is currently not being observed.
Welcome to the New world, the forth amendment and MANY other amendments were written in a time when the world was a much bigger place, a time when they weren’t using passenger aircraft as weapons of mass destruction. I am certain if our fore fathers where living today they would be changing the laws too.
Times change and our laws must reflect the situations and times. Old laws from days gone past don't always have a place in modern society.
Yes, we are a Democracy and I vote to have people detained and searched. The reason that you see little Timmy and Grandma searched is because it makes HEADLINES. The TSA has to make snap decisions in the middle of busy airports. The PASSENGERS consent to the search. Know the rules. They can always decline the search and get held back. But people want to take every situation and record it with their cell so the media can turn it into things that they are not. Don't be a puppet of the media. They take everything and blow it out of proportion because it sells and people believe them. I for one don’t believe much of the media anymore. While there may be some truth to what they say it’s mostly blown out.
Oh and in case you haven’t seen it, little Timmy in the Arab world will blow you to kingdom come. But since we are not allowed to Profile we have to be equal to all. That’s why you get to see the stupidity of our own laws taken to extreme measures. Fight about it all you like, it’s not changing. But if you get your way and it does change I hope you experience the loss that so many others have because of these fanatics. If that’s what it takes to wake you up then you need to know the pain of losing a loved one or your loved ones loosing YOU.
It’s real easy to preach the Fourth amendment from the sidelines, Join the rest of us who have fought, lost and cried then talk to me.
Sorry to all this can get real heated real fast. But I will not stand by and let someone make a foolish comment about the TSA or any organization that is protecting me every time I fly. I love my Country, I served my country and have lost loved ones for this country. I appologize for expressing that so publicly to those who don't desire to hear it. I am finished here, back to discussing Brietlings.
