I recommend a g shock if you can go digital while you're at the beach! It wouldn't be too bad if it got ruined either.

Most people who aren't watch people seem to like them, and if you aren't hard on it then it should serve you well. Personally, I wouldn't get it because I know a few guys who have had them and they haven't held up well under heavier marine usage. IMO, the best tide watch is the G-Shock. A Corum is nice and all, but functionally speaking, it's like a Sea Dweller is to a dive computer, so if function is the main goal, digital is the way to go IMO.
