In my opinion, Tag gets a bad rap. I'm not even sure why? After hanging out on the forums for 10 years, its clear that Tag gets little respect, they seem to be looked upon as a poser watch. I can't figure out whythey achieved this reputation, but I can say for myself, as a guy thats owned 300+ watches, I see nothing that puts Tag in a lower class than any other mid-range luxury watch. Especially of late, they are really setting themselves up as a contender for top dollar watches.
I have owned a few Tags, and have one that I will keep indefinitely (Link Chrono Auto), based on the 7750 but runs smoothly, and quality is top notch. Also worthy to mention is the Tag Aquagraph, arguably one of the better dive watches produced, yet totally underrated. It has ALL of the criteria necessary to be called a professional dive watch, with central minute and second counters, locking bezel, fantastic lume, superb bracelet, underwater pushers... yet they get dumped on the resale market for $1200-1500. Crazy amount of watch for that money.
So in a nutshell, the Tag you are looking at is beautiful, it fits your needs perfectly, and if you like it, then you should buy it. Nothing wrong with Tag in my opinion.
Paid $1200 for this on the forums...

Paid $800 for this on eBay... absolutely a bargain for the quality.
