Thanks, the photo I posted was borrowed from TZ. I haven't had any time to snap some picks, but here's a quick one. It's a really cool looking Pam, it fits so my nicer than the 1950 style cases which I have sold off. This is a keeper.

Awe look at that Pam, it sure it "cute"! I am sure glad you didn't like the 1950 case because your not getting the 312 back! :)

No no no, I LOVE the 1950 case but it just doesn't fit on my wrist. If I had a man's wrist then I'd have a house full of 1950 style pams including the new 372, but unfortunately my wrists stopped growing at birth. I'm glad to see that you're still enjoying it!

IMO.

A Homage is like walking into Primark and buying clothes that bear a passing resemblance to the designer clothes that you saw in that boutique the day before, but it's obvious even with just a passing glance that it's not. It's 80% of the look for 5% of the cost. You can't expect the goods to last as long, and one day you'll probably stand in line next to somebody in the real thing and feel a prat, but what the hell, it didn't cost you much. :)

A replica is like a rip off of a designer polo shirt, it's got the right logos and insignia in the right places, but the material and finish won't be to such fastidious standards. At first glance it might be indistinguishable and although it'll fool many people, if anybody actually looks closely you'll end up feeling a tit, you'll wish you shopped in Primark.

A fake IMO is like the awful dodgy looking fakes like the "Breitlings" with really, really awful fake tourbillons and plastic diamond bezels, not really a replication of any model but badly thrown together and poorly made from junk materials, yet proudly sporting a brand name and markings that look vaguely like those used by the manufacturer being ripped off, if you squint a bit.

I'll stick my neck out and say that in my opinion replicas are the worst and most dangerous of the three, since they're getting good enough that they can be (and by the looks of things are) used to decieve people into believing they're buying the real deal, even people who might have done some research into specific models or have some experience buying/selling watches. I've seen replica Panerais and Tags side by side with the genuine article, and the difference on all but a very close inspection has been a 0.5mm or so thinner crown, or a slightly different stitch on a strap. Handle, hold, operate and examine them back to back and the difference becomes instantly much clearer, but it is scary how good some of these rip-offs are getting.

Homages should be treated as a bit of fun, as long as the makers resist breaching intellectual property and maintain some of their own character they're a great way of obtaining a nice looking (to the layman) watch for a cheap price.

Fakes are inexcusable in todays age of accessible information and shared knowledge, if you spend £20 on a bad fake rather than a generic, honest cheap watch for anything other than a practical joke you're a fool. If you buy one in good faith for a considerable sum having seen the watch beforehand you're at best misguided, there's just so much information about makes/models/years/serial numbers/values of most watches out there now, a few minutes searching for piece of mind is a few minutes wisely invested (of course you can't trust anything on the internet, but there's enough verifiable information out there to make an informed choice.)

As a diver, the Ocean7 LM7 is a watch I would take diving.
The Omega Ploprof 600 / 1200 is not. Way too expensive!
Desk-dive the original, scuba-dive the replica/homage !
