Ordered these two about a month ago before we went on Holiday...

Since we are in Germany for the forseeable future, I have been researching several German watch brands. While I would love to buy a Sinn or Tutima, they are a bit out of my price range right now with the Ling on the way!

Found an interesting company called Aeromatic 1912. They have AD's in a few countries and I have seen several on eBay. But I liked their website:

...and they have some pretty neat watches, including some newly introduced retrogrades.

I picked up two.

The first is a replica WW II Luftwaffe Pilot's Watch. From what I can tell, this is a fairly good replica of a 1940's-era piece, complete with an interesting spring crown protector.

The second is a fairly unique sort-of Jump Hour model. It has the crown and pushers on the top with a minute hand and stopwatch seconds hand at the center, normal seconds on one subdial, stopwatch minutes on the second subdial and the normal time hour on the larger, third subdial.

Both are on leather bands and seem very well constructed.

Check out the website...the retrograde on the homepage is pretty neat!

Very interesting pieces. I must be honest they aren't really my thing, but they are certainly unique. Definite conversation pieces!

And yes I agree, the retrograde on the homepage is pretty interesting too.

D8,

Yeah, I find that retrograde on the homepage very interesting. Haven't seen one of those in person yet and I have no idea what they cost, but it is a very unique complication.

Prefer the second one - first one doesn't really do it for me. Retrograde is very cool!!

Not sure why you need that and the regular seconds though.

They used to make a Navitimer homage - not sure if it's still available

There's quite a few of these German companies popping up who manufacture in China and sell at a fraction of the price of a Swiss made version. Absolutely no evidence to back this up but I've always suspected they come form the same factories that make the fakes.

I like the B-uhr style watch and have an Aristo in a similar vein.
