The strap pictured is rubber. One of the best rubber straps I ever had - looks like calf leather.

Yea I like the fact that it is rubber, and the way it looks...and the deployant buckel is nice. While I like the PO steel bracelet, I am kind of growing bored with a silver case and silver bracelet.

I also am atracted to the yellow faced Sealwolf on a black OR strap. But I am a bit concerned the SW is too over the top in color and wold get ONLY sporty use. The bezel of the SW is almost exactly like my Steelfish. I love all Breitling watches, but think the PO gives me a bit more depth and range. Still the SWolf screams tough, tool watch to me. No way I can have both any time soon.

What you all think?

My god!!!! it's the stitching that threw me what a lovely strap.

not being in the omega camp forgive my ignorance

Merc

No ignorance - who would know unless you've owned one? It's hard enough to tell when you have it in hand. Amazingly supple to the touch as well -like no other rubber strap I've come across. I had the same dial, black bezel, and that same strap. My only regret - given my wrist size I wish I had gone for the 42mm version.

I couldn't find the love for the orange bezel, but that's entirely a personal thing. Overall the PO is hard to appreciate as much as you will in the metal.

I almost picked that up about 7-8 months ago. I just love the orange and black! They've done it very well. To me, the whole line, color and sizes are my favorite of the Omega range. Me personally, I don't prefer the XL size. The smaller looks fine on me, but thats personal pref. obviously.

rplace,

Your last post, last paragraph, I agree. The SF, and SW have the same movement in them and look similar. To me it screams A-male. Not a bad thing, but in my opinion, a total sport watch. I think the PO gives you more range and variety, and to me more understated. I also prefer the straps over the bracelets. But thats me with all watches. I like to change them up. Your decision obviously, just my thoughts.

AF_Rob A-Male too funny! :D

I am really wresting with this. The kid in me says SW all the way, outrageous, fun, obnoxious. The adult in me says the PO makes much more sense. I like it in all black, just orange numbers and full on orange. Heck I even love the mesh bracelet for it, though most don't seem to. Back to the SW it is so much like my Steelfish, it seems limiting to have two watches so much alike, but to be honest I'd be happy with another SF in white or black face to go with my blue fish.

I for sure have to give both the 42 and 45 PO a serious test ride on my wrist...but I think I am leaning toward the PO and probably in orange bezel. Seem like a happy medium between screaming yellow big SW and still big but a tad subdued, PO.

I have steel, rubber and two calf for my Steelfish so easy to dress it up or make it a tool. For that reason I am kind of shying away from the PO on steel bracelet. I figure if I start with the rubber/deployant I am good for the water, but still more refined than the rubber/tang. Down the road if I get the mesh bracelet I am almost as high brow looking as the Breitling offerings like the Heritage on mesh, which I like a lot too.

So if it is going to be my second real watch to compliment a SteelFish should it be:

Yellow Seawolf on black OR
Some variant of the PO on rubber/deployant
Bell & Ross BR 03-92

The B&R was a front runner in late December, but just like so many candidates this year it is dropping fast. Yea it is surely unique, gets noticed, stands out...but for the roughly same $$$ it seems to offer a lot less. Standard ETA movement and....well you all know the drill better than me.

This? If so I dig it too. Don't think it could be the only strap I owned for that though...I'd have to have something else. I wish on that they had done black stitching.

Well I stumbled upon a Tourneau store that had just about every PO configuration in stock. Nice salesman took all the time in the world with me. The 45mm looks pretty big until you try it on, it just fits perfectly. The 42 is a bit small and light, I was surprised at that. The new 8500 movement is impressive with display back, but it does sit quite a bit higher on the wrist. I am leaning toward the 2500 movement version. The Orange is very nice in person. After seeing them all I think the orange numbers black bezel is actually the worst....not that any are bad. All black is nice, gray bezel is nice and the orange/orange really pops. The rubber strap is super comfy and the deployant clasp it first class all the way.

I like

The PO is a really great watch and whilst I have the black bezel version, I did think hard about the orange configuration; I went with the black as I personally think that the it is more versatile. There's nothing better than trying them on and seeing them on your wrist. Good luck!
