Does anyone know of a decent place to buy Bergeon screwdrivers at a decent price? My cheapo versions have finally given up the ghost, so it's time to replace them with a touch of quality before I ruin a bracelet by burring off a screw head!

I've bought Bergeon items from Watchtool.co.uk in the past but the set of nine screwdrivers (the ones in the nice wooden box) are around the £80 mark, so I just thought I'd shop around first. Any idea guys?

Watchtool.co.uk is the best bet as far as I know.

I got the following set and they're proving to be really good.

http://www.watchtool.co.uk/piece-screwd ... -6797.html

A good compromise I reckon at a 1/4 of the price.

Cheers BB. Daft question, but are those screwdrivers the same as the ones in the wooden box? Seems an awful lot of difference in cash...... :huh

No - they aren't branded Bergeon but are Swiss AF brand.

Have a look here as there seems to be some conflict - there's a box set at $99 which looks like the set you were after!

http://www.ofrei.com/page355.html

I'm confused now - but I can certainly vouch for the AF ones (boxed or not) so you should be alright on the ones from Watchtool - unless you want a box.

The main difference, apart from not bieing in a box, is that you only get 1 or 2 spare blades in the set in the stand. That said, as long as you use the right size for the job they'll last for ages without damage.

Stupid question: Why is there no 1.8 mm screwdriver? Or aren't there any 1.8 mm screws used in watches?

No such thing as a stupid question. Only stupidity is NOT asking the question!

Like a socket set, they can't include everything so just include the most popular sizes. If you look at the list of replacement blades, you'll see the popular sizes are £5 less than the unpopular ones. I'm sure there will be a watch somewhere which uses 1.8mm screws just to be different!
