I'm new to the area and am looking for a good watchmaker I can trust. I tried this place not too far from where I live and quickly realized I was dealing with a watch snob - he only wanted to talk about Rolex and literally turned his nose up at working on my Top Time. He was, to say the least, a little insulting. Just before leaving, I checked out his vintage watches for sale and a 50's Telda 2 register chrono caught my eye. I asked to see it and quickly saw that it was all original, fleshly serviced and very minty. I figured it was a Landeron but gave it a wind and immediately heard the unmistakeable sound of a Venus movement. All functions worked very crisply and I was pretty hooked. He asked me to make a cash offer and still feeling a bit insulted, I figured I'd lowball him and return the favor. Long story short, he jumped on my offer and I got an immaculate Venus 188 for 200 bucks! He has a couple of other pieces that might make great investments so I'll be going back soon. Anyone looking for an 18K Angelus chrono moonphase?
