...but with the prices continuing to rise, and the fact I now have the one watch I truly wanted, I decided I will now just play a little with some lower priced brands. Even at sub 1k I don't plan to overdue it, more just some downtime fun and to get a package in the mail. :D

I wasn't even going to buy another watch this year but said what the heck I'll get an auto for a few hundred, but then seen this and it screamed Summer watch and buy me, so I did. Should be here in another week and will go well with my 6.75... as in something to wear everywhere I wouldn't where a ling. Something like this was much more my price range and style before I discovered Breitling, so it's all good.

I really do like that quite a bit. Very nice for summer wear, and throw a Nato on it for an even more casual feel. Nice pick up

Just like you I think the pricing has begun to make most peices, even in second hand form, a bit out of my comfort zone.

I dont want to stress over the cost more than I enjoy the watch if you know what I mean.

I hear ya. My real world isn't one of collecting multi thousand dollar watches so the more expensive they get, the more that point comes across. I do like having a nice watch, but could easily deal with just owning one, because that's how I've been since I was 19 years old. (up to 3 years ago)

I can certainly relate. I never even wore a watch till a little over a year ago, but now have three very lovely Lings. Now that I have got my basics covered (tool, sport, casual) I think I am less inclined to spend the several thousand dollars to get my whistle wet.

That being said....the vintage market sure looks fun, and looks a hell of a lot cheaper to get the "new watch rush". The guys over on the Vintage threads can be very helpful in learning the ropes. It takes a bit more research, but there are tons of vintage Breitlings out there for under 1k.

Prices are way up and the more moderate priced models are...lets just say not my cup of tea. The sexiest new model IMO is the Transocean, but being well 9k just kills me.
