The CD has two sets of springbar holes, one set specific for the rubber to make it a very tight fit to the case, so tight it is practically impossible to fit!

I hear you on knocking the fish. I did it the other day just on dry wall but my shirt was over it and did not hit it too hard. Was afraid to look, but it was absolutely perfect. Pretty tough little bugger so far. :cheer:

Totally agree on going to the beach and coming back from a swim to find your Monster missing, it wold suck...but. I'd be sick with the fish if that happened. I once had a $250-ish dollar watch my wife gave me back when we were poor, I mean no $$$ to our name. I was on the back of a jet ski and the driver was trying to dump me. I held on for dear life, eventually we both fell off but as I went down my watch got caught on the buckle of his life vest...dug way into my - arm cut me pretty bad, eventually something gave and as I hit the drink I saw my Victorinox gently splash into the depths of the Chesapeake bay never to bee seen again. It was probably only a month old. I was crushed...felt so bad telling the wife. :(

I think the CD or the OM would be great for short sleeves and casual Friday. Put you in the right frame of mind for the weekend. I probably need both an orange AND yellow faced watch don't ya thnk?

BTW, the Helson Buccaneer is stunning.

Ah, that's odd isn't it? So changing out bands, sizing, the " baby monster" is better. Also, going for (for me) a "wild color" of orange or yellow a cheap way to try it out. Well, your new one is not in the same league. Beautiful watch, but not a beater as we've discussed here. I'll have to read up on your new one, again I like the band too. I must have a band fetish :)

Agree, but it was nice (to me) for its time in my life when I was wearing 20 dollar Ironmans in the early 90s. It was no green web strapped POS, it had a decent bracelet and buckle. Not losing any sleep over it 20 or so years later, but no matter your current bank it would suck to lose any Breitling that way.

Still thinking the baby monster might have the edge with the see-through case back...what is the actually called anyway? Probably would tire of it eventually. The Helson GMT has a killer case back. Simple things amuse me I guess. :)

Yes, value is relative to many things. Sorry you lost your watch so many years ago. If we only knew then what we know now, huh?

I really like the CD. To me, it looked best on Stef's arm. The deal breaker for me though is changing the band I really like the idea of changing the bands based on a whim for watches like these. The faceted metal band reminds me of the BB as well, one of my favorite 'Lings. Hmmm.

I have heard tons of good things about the Boschett bands. That alone makes me think if it were only one the CD is the way to go. I am such a flip flopper after looking at the two monsters side by side I think I actually like the orange on the original more. For the time I have spent messing around looking at these I could have paid for both

When my Black and Orange monsters were delivered I took them to the local "Mr Minute". A shop where they cut keys , replace batteries in car keys , fit cheap watch bands , etc. It cost me $20 to have both watches resized and they are both a perfect fit . Don't let the supposed difficulties with the bracelet influence your decision .

Ah Melbourne! Great food, great people! What is the name of that open market just outside the city? Did a lot of shopping there. Thanks for your post, that's exactly what I would do.

That sounds like it could be the South Melbourne Market . Lovely fresh donuts , and famous for Dim Sims .

My vote would also be for the Cave Dweller. I have the CD on bracelet & the Orange Monster on a rubber strap & my one complaint is the Orange Monster is smaller than I am use to- I believe it is 40-41MM. The CD is 44MM & is thick so has a presence on your wrist where the Orange Monster may get overlooked. Both watches perform great after an initial time regulating for the Seiko which was running very fast when I 1st got it new.
