Trying to revive this thread a little. Does anyone have any updates on the price of the Sea Dweller Deep Sea?

Yes, it is 8K USD over here. Also should be available in three months in this part of the world.

Anyone know if it a permanent edition or a limited run?

Why buy something that looks so much like a Submariner for nearly twice the price?

It's not like you're going to go to 11,000 feet with it. I would definitely have to pass on the piece. Just not enough changes from the previous model to sell me on the idea.

Don't forget the better bracelet though Brian. Personally I think that's worth the extra alone. Apart from the slightly dodgy looking wording below the crystal, I reckon this is the best looking Rolex ever.

Why buy a Breitling when a Casio will do the job for 1/1000 th of the price?

It's mainly about the technology and passion. If it moves you, great! If not, great news as far as your bank account is concerned.

Imagine if the Daytona got the same treatment?

A 44 MM beefed up Daytona would be amazing.

I would pay more for a better bracelet but $4000 more?

No way.

If I had $8000 laying around, I would go with the Submariner AND a Super Avenger.

Fair point Brian, but if I really felt the need to own a Rolex again, then this is the only one I'd personally go for.... $8000 or not.

It looks chunky, the bracelet is 1000 times better and for the first time ever IMHO is actually worthy of the quality of the movement inside the case. And it's clearly a work of engineering genius with that water resistency rating. However as I say, the writing under the crystal is a bit of a downer for me, so I won't personally be considering one. (In fact I'm almost GLAD the writing is there or else I'd be VERY tempted! :) )

Hey why not? Pull the trigger!

After all, you've added about three watches to your arsenal in the last 90 days! Why not FOUR!

Thanks for the update Altair. I really like the look of this watch, though I would agree it would be much better without all the writing. I really want to know if its a limited run too, or if they are discontinuing the older style.

If its a limited run, I'll prob pass on it, let the collector's pony up the $8k.

If they are replacing the older style, I'll prob place an order for the older Sea Dweller. (One to wear and one to keep in the safe for a few years.)

If they are only adding it to the production list, I can see myself acquiring one in the next year or so. (Still have a few on the list which take priority.)

The price is either $8495 or $8695 I forget which, plus tax. You are looking at a $9k watch. I'm out of the Rolex game, back to Breitling. Cooler looking watches at 1/3 of the price.

Just got back from my AD. MRSP in Canada is $9950.00 CDN. He figures I'll be wearing my watch by September.
