This mod looks absolutely stunning IMO. If they offered this option, I would snatch this up in a heart beat. What do you all think?

I like it a lot. Take off the cyclops and it'll be perfect.

He's done well getting a bezel insert from a WG Sub, Rolex are very careful about giving those out. Normally you can only get one if you own a WG Sub (same with the LV).

Good decision to leave the centre links brushed, they look better that way.

That new "fat lugs" Sub leaves me completely cold. Does nothing for me... this was a huge downgrade visually.

The old 16610 was perfect and you can't improve perfection. That's probably just me though.

I disagree. I think the 16610 was far from perfect. The tin foil bracelet HAD to go. I was glad to see an update with that. I also think the maxi dial and lugs fill the watch out. It doesn't look like a small watch anymore. Putting on a 16610 after a breitling feels like your wearing a woman's watch. Not so much with the 116610

I think the Blue bezel looks really cool. I wish these types of options were more readily available.

Outstanding!! That is gorgeous! Too bad Rolex doesn't offer more color options like that.....they are missing the boat I think by not offering such things.

:yeahthat

The only perfect thing about the 16610 was the marketing that convinced people that they were perfect. The 116 took everything that was wrong with the 16 and made it good enough to be called perfect.

I'll give you the bracelet, its time was clearly up, but what else about the 16610 was in such bad need of an update?

IMO everything else comes down to taste: the maxi-dial and fat lugs are obviously going to find friends on a site like this (where people's tastes run towards larger watches), but the lines of the older case and dial are arguably more elegant and don't look outdated. Not saying one is better than the other, I have one of each style myself.

If I say that in the metal, that would be the first Rolex I would own! Is this really available?

Unfortunately, no its not available. Someone got their hands on a ceramic bezel from the white gold ceramic sub and installed on the all black 116610 stainless sub.

I WISH they produced this.
