Hi everybody, i came accross the masterpiece collection of Maurice Lacroix (link below), where they have very nice looking watches and reasonable prices as well. the question is how would you rate this brand in terms of quality, precision and reliability? you can also add your subjective rating of like and dislike.

Hello Alien13: I own the Masterpiece Reveil Globe. The watch is well made with an excellent finish. Accurate. I use it as a dress watch. Gets great comments. Feels good on the wrist--is a little beefy Hope this helps. Enjoy :)

A few years ago I had a tick-tock (i.e. quartz!) Maurice Lacroix and it was very well put together. The bracelet was nice and heavy and well finished (although they were pin-linked) and the case was well designed. Mine was certainly not up there with a Breitling in terms of finish or design, but a nice alternative to something like a Seiko, although as I say mine was a pretty simple model and nowhere near the masterpiece collection.

However the thing that really turned me off it was that they started selling Maurice Lacroix watches on Bid Up and Price Drop TV for peanuts!!! Unfortunately it aroused the snob in me, so the ML had to go!

Maurice Lacroix is changing at the moment. They use to have quartz and ETA based automatic movements, not much exclusivity, not much prestige, very wide distribution in Europe, but they offered good quality for a reasonable price. Now they are reducing their quarz collection to a minimum, and they are changing their Masterpiece range to manufacture calibres. Not all of them have the new movements, but some are already on the market. The pricing for the manufacture watches is way too high for my opinion.
They also have produced a technology demonstrator, called memoire1.

I am AD of the brand, and I am not completely sure, what I will do with it.
They have massively reduced the number of outlets, but they are not the big seller at the moment.
