it's strange, i hear all the complaints and disbelief about the popularity of panerai. but then everyday it's another thread about how he was totally blown away after putting it on and now he gets it and drinking the kool-aid etc etc. face it P was popular before with the generic movement, now that they're rolling out the different in-house stuff there's nowhere to go but up for the brand. for anyone with love for bigger watches (like breitling) get on the bandwagon while there's still room, it's inevitable anyway 8) . handwinding isn't that bad, and i can attest their p9xxx 8-day movement is a beast and usually dead on to +/- 1-2 sec a day.

Ill admit that im not completely blown away by the brand. Part of my attraction is the hype, and the other part is the design. But without the hype, I guess they are really not that special. I love certain aspects like the crown lock and the strap change though. They are also very understated in their simplicity. Very simple, yet very interesting...but that might just be the hype talking.

Sounds like you got your 111 mixed up with a 112. The 112 and 000 look similar in pics except for the logo.

A prime example of Pano-geek Speak. :poke:

I should probably tone it down before its too late. I might have to kick my own ass.

Yes, of course. New model of Panerai especially for boutique special edition was crazy.

IMHO the most beautiful Panerai is base (2 hand), hand-wound and solid case (most historic).

Is that the 112 or 000 with pvd? The watch looks fantastic!!!! I want one but still cant figure which I like better.

Here's my 9BL - discontinued model. Completed with PVD coated not DLC.

You mean to tell me this is not a 000 or 112? This is exactly why I am confused. 3 watches that look almost indentical. This is exactly why I created this thread :cheer: :cheer: ......9bl huh? Awesome watch bud!
