Well, after reading Ricardo’s great review on the GMT (damn you Ricardo!!! haha), I have been to the only Graham AD in Vancouver a few times to see if I could try one of these on and low and behold when I dropped by the day before yesterday they had the green colour model in stock.

I have to say that when I put it on my wrist, the cigarette lighter/cappuccino machine/chrono trigger did not look as out of place as I thought it would, I actually quite liked it. The watch itself was quite heavy, compared to the navi world I had on, even though it was on a rubber strap.

I think my favorite thing about this piece is the coloured GMT bezel, I actually really liked the green colour but would also like to see the Bordeaux (sp??) as I think that would look pretty sharp as well. I really like the design of the skeleton GMT hand and the big date is also a nice addition. I already have a blue dial steelfish and a white dial navi world, so the black dial GMT would fit into the current collection rather nicely I think. The model that they had in stock had a PVD coated trigger and reset pusher, I haven't heard great things about the durability of a PVD coating, but since the trigger and pusher are on the left side of the watch I'm thinking that it's pretty remote that the coating would get damaged.

I didn’t really have a close look at the price, I thought I may have seen $16,600, but from what information I could find on pricing I think it may have been $12,600, something to look at when I go back the next time. If it is indeed $16,600 I may have to look used as I don’t think I can quite justify that price point.

I had a couple of questions for everyone here, first, is there any experience with what a typical discount might be on the brand, I am hoping perhaps similar to Breitling in the 20% region. Secondly, if the list on this thing is indeed $16,600 I am wondering if there is something else out there that I should consider. That being said, I really do love the look of the Graham and am not all that concerned about the lack of an in-house movement, although from what I understand the GMT’s movement is in-house. At any rate it would certainly make a great conversation piece and I think would be a good addition to my modestly growing collection.

Giant sized with a can opener bolted to it, aside.... If the watch is priced at $12,600.... WOW how about triple of what I would pay for one. I did a quick price check on used ones and they seem to have a pretty consistant 50% depreciation over retail price.

Not a fan, I'm sorry. To me it doesn't look like a practical watch but more of a novelty. For that kinda money it better be a practical watch with a style that isn't just a fad. But to each his own....

Off the top of my head, im pretty sure my AD has offered me well over 20% off. Discounts should be on par with what we are usd to.

I have no idea what a good price would be, but for $12k I'd go with a JLC or a Blancpain or something like that. I like the design on the Graham in general, but those cigarette lighter crown guard things kill me.

If they offer you 20% then you are quite at liberty to roll around on the floor laughing - it should be less than 80% of retail taxes in - a lot less.

I actually like the triggers a lot. Sorry can't help with this particular model pricing, but I remembered being offered healthy discount when asking about Grahams in the past.

Ok quick google at chrono24, most seemed to be in the $4K to $7K range (non gold models)...

Haha, tough crowd, I think I heard a rotten tomato whiz by my head.

There is just something about the design and looks of the GMT that really appeals to me. In my mind it’s something different but not too different, and I really love the use of colour in the bezel.


Thanks for the advice Roff, I will go back to the AD next week and toss a number in that range out there and see what happens, I'll try not to roll around on the floor too much, it's tough to know where to start if you don't have an idea of what the typical discounts are.

Perhaps I will check and see if I can find any used ones as well, last I checked there were no GMT's on either Ebay or Chrono24, just some BNIB grey market sales around the $7600 range.

As far as buying what I like, no worries there, just ask my wife and she'll be able to put together a list a mile long on stupid crap (in her mind) I've purchased over the years because I thought it was cool


On the plus side, next time I go camping I won't have to remember my multi-tool to open the can of pork-and-beans, plus when I get old I'll still be able to read the dial.
