D8 - yes, it was because of the sizing issue. Nothing wrong with the way the watch head sat, just the bracelet. ricardo is right, there is a half link, but I experimented with about 3 different link combinations and positions and just couldn't get it right. It would have been perfect for someone with a wrist very slightly smaller or larger than mine.
Not surprised you saw one go for less than 2,000 quid. Mine took forever to sell and went for the equivalent of about that (AUD was weaker at the time), and it was immaculate.
You guys are killing me with this talk of the Classic Aero being worth less than £2K.
I was concerned about this so I spoke to my local AD, whi deals with second hand watches, and he said that the watch would be worth about £2300 trade. I paid £2500 for it so I felt good about this.
Incidentally, at £2500 I still consider this a bargain when you look at how much watch you get for that money. I went trawling through various auction sites and forum sales sites and I couldn't find anything better, in my opinion, for the money.
Still, I love the watch so if (always a big IF with me) it becomes a keeper the residual value will be irrelevant.
It makes you wonder: Is the market for oversized, over-designed watches really that bad?
