Have you looked at the Fifty Fathoms?

If I were prepared to drop $10k, I'd do my damndest to track down one of these feckers. I can't explain why; I just like it. But I like that Glashutte too. I'm just not sure what I think of those pushers.

That bezel is a monstrosity! Ill take the sapphire FF bezel in a heartbeat.

:yeahthat

:yeahthat I can't stand that bezel either.

Keep in mind that this GO can be had for around $7K...so we are not talking about a purchase price of $10K. If it could not be had for less than $10K then I would have to agree that it was overpriced for what it was, but at $7K we are talking similar money to a Rolex GMTIIc.

Not my intent at all. I honestly forgot about the heated debate on the other thread when I wrote this.

All I'm sayin' is that we should compare this watch to similar ones that can be had in the $7K range, not $10K. GO is a line that can be had at a pretty nice discount.

Is that better?? :lovesloves:

That's funny. The bezel is one of the things I like about it. Although, if more people feel the way you do, that could explain why it's now discontinued. (BTW, I like the sapphire bezel, too; I just wish the model were offered on a bracelet.)

I'm not going there.

If I were going with the GO, I'd save some money and just get the Sport Panorama date

They do make a bracelet for the sapphire version. Its just stupidly expensive.

Thanks for the comments guys. Some good information. I agree with the thoughts shared here.

In pictures the watch doesn't look impressive however when you see it in person its simply outstanding (in my eyes) and the display back plus attention to detail are phenominal. I've actually seen it before in pictures and completely dismissed it. When I saw it live I had to go back and look at the pictures to make sure it was the same watch. I also agree that they went with "safe" styling, nothing too crazy or revolutionary. True also that Glashutte has some very nice dress watches, most def something to keep in mind.

I really like the Fifty Fathoms by Blancpain however it is a bit expenssive, I love the chrono but that one is even more expenssive.

For JLC I like the Master Compressor Diving GMT 44mm and I think one can get a sweet discount. I haven't yet seen this one in person.

IWC Big Pilot is actually too big for my 6 inch wrist

Also having read the very dynamic thread on the BB and Rolex GMT I guess the Rolex is a pretty good watch and one that has to be considered.

There are soooo many good options out there its just a question for finding the dough to buy all of them thats tough :P . I guess its all about trying them on and seeing which one appeals to me more.

With each day I am getting more impatient waiting for my Navi  I went to my local AD to try the BB and I also tried the Chronomat Evo and the latter is freakin' nice...maybe thinking of getting one next summer or a BB depending on price. Its so true what they say about Breitlings being addictive...insane.

It must be, since the version on the strap retails for over $13k. Their website doesn't show the bracelet for any Fifty Fathoms, but since when is that conclusive of anything? You'd think I would realize that by now. Anyway, thanks for the clarification.

Sasho, it doesn't matter what we think. It only matters what you think...and what I think. And I really like your choice of the GO, which should be enough for you to make your decision to get it. I hope this was helpful. (Then again, it appears I like things other people think are monstrosities, so take my recommendations with a grain or two of salt.)

I think its a great watch, next on my list. The company has quite a history and of course everything is made in-house. Your paying for craftsmanship and the history for this watch.
