Hey Gang,
OK - I've been a basement machinist for years, and have messed around some with clocks - mostly at the cleaning/lubing level, with the help of some folks on the model eng list, and some books, and a neighbor of my parents who had been a watchmaker for Bulova back in the era where an Accutron was a brand new idea

I'd LOVE to learn to get a little MORE advanced, and to work on 'simple' watches (no, nothing high end - my ling will go back to hanger 7, thank you very much) - more for a 'I'd like to learn how they work' than actual work

Anyone know of any place in the NYC area where I could go to learn? Any good book/video sources - etc?

Invest a few bucks and buy the Chicago School of Watchmaking correspondence course on CD - there's a seller on eBay that has them. It's one of the better courses and is a good starting point.

I ordered one last night! Can't go wrong for $27.00. Can't wait to get it.
