In fairness to the author..... One West Highland White Terrier, but it could be more depending on what week it is. Wifey volunteers for a rescue organization for Westies. They take in Westies from puppy mills that are shut down for deplorable conditions, shelters, ones found abandoned, or from people that simply have to give them up for various reasons. They foster the dogs until they can find homes for them, or in the case of ones that are in really rough shape, they'll foster them and nurse them back to health until they are "adoptable." The one we have, Kelly, was originally a foster dog. She was rescued from a puppy mill that was shut down. She had lived in a cage, outside, for 6-7 years. Very little hair, could barely walk from malnutrition and from the sores on her paws from the wire cage. When I first saw her, I didn't think she would last the week. We've had her about a year now, and she's quite an amazing dog, especially considering everything she's been through. She's also now a certified "therapy dog" for Caring Canines, so on most weekends, she visits hospitals, retirement homes, rehabs, etc. So see, I'm really not the ball gag on the hooker type (although my sense of humor is). ![]() |

i commend your wife for doing such a great task. we rescued our first boston from horrible owners. she was living in a shed in nthe middle of january and out here its - numbers in the temp dept. she had frost bite on her ears and was very sick. spent a grand on her the first week we had her. well thanks for the lovely pic and the work your wife does to help these little guys out.i wasnt bitching about the other posts. i also have the sence of humor of a 15 yr old. |

The thought never crossed my mind - just felt bad that your topic was hijacked. Perhaps we need a separate hooker topic? Or perhaps on the topic of how strippers have the uncanny ability to spot a Breitling (or other high end watch) on a gents wrist from a mile away? |
