Well, this first one is just to show you that sometimes it really gets too much. This combo didn't work at all, makes the Chronomat look very feminine in my opinion: Chronomat on red Hornback: ![]() ![]() It looks much better on the black OEM croco: ![]() ![]() But, I think it goes even better on the Pilot bracelet: ![]() For the SO, it is normally on a black OR: ![]() But now it can also be on this black calf with matching stitches: ![]() ![]() ![]() Sorry about the Breitling buckle on the aftermarket strap, but I haven't received my shipment of generic buckles yet. It will be changed when I get them. |

Nice pics! For what it's worth agree that the Chronomat looks best on the pilot bracelet. |

Kinda like the red one on red leather, there's something to it... |

Great to see the different combos Aleister. For what it's worth, I agree with you that the red hornback looks a little feminine with the red dial. I think it's not helped by the fact that the dial is much deeper, which makes the strap look almost pink! ![]() BUT as good as the aftermarket straps are, I'm still going to say the OEM croco (and obviously the Pilot bracelet) are the best! |

I think that the red Evo would look better with a darker red strap, that shade doesn't look quite right. By contrast I do like the black croc - it looks very good. |

I agree, the red strap would have been better in a darker tone, but this was the one available. I got the calf/orange stitches strap from K-straps: http://k-straps.com/ The red hornback came from Peter, who regularly posts in the "strap for sale" section at WUS. The tan hornback came from Jason at: http://www.jns-strap.com/ And some earlier straps, really good quality, from ABP: http://www.abp-paris.com/watchbands_news.php |

Nighthawk_fn3 wrote: Kinda like the red one on red leather, there's something to it... I have to agree. It is a beautiful strap, and certainly an unusual dial colour. Hey... why not? It is a beautiful combo. If the strap looked cheap, I would say no way, but the combo looks classy to me. It's kind of like when some of us don't like diamonds, yet there was a recent posting of a SA with silver dial an diamond bezel, which I thought looked outstanding. The red on red is one combo I would love to see in person! Can't say that it strikes me as feminine, though, it is still very much a mens full size watch. OR on yellow SO - great choice! Where did you get the strap with the matching stitching? In spite of my previous thoughts, I think that I will get an aftermarket leather strap for my Seawolf. I would like to get a strap that is fairly rugged looking, and with no taper. I'm thinking along the lines of the ones made for Panerai. Anyway, this is about you and not about me! The Pilot bracelet, although I like the red on red, is probably still the best on the red dial Chronomat. If I was you, and could afford it, I would get a Blackbird polished pilot bracelet to make the whole thing even more unique, then you have red on polished pilot, with bevelled edges! For some reason, I am not crazy about the black croco with the red dial, though. The thing is that you are having a hell of a lot of fun with the strap variations! Cheers, Carlo |

Thanks Carl! The SO strap came from K-straps, link above. You're very right, I'm having fun (and my wife thinks I'm a nutcase ![]() |

The red looks a little too light for me as well. The pilot earns my vote here ![]() |

I like the red with black croc. The calf with orange stiching is very cool. I to must admit I use Breitling buckels on aftermarket straps. I am a bad person.... |

First, a watch as massive and bold as the Chronomat could never look feminine, even if it were dressed in a skirt. ![]() ![]() I've seen a number of big, macho-type chaps wearing red-strapped watches (various brands) and they look anything but fou-fou. I think the red strap gives the Chronomat a more elegant, expensive look. Wear it with pride, even arrogance -- I promise no one will laugh at you. ![]() Steve |
