Happy Christmas to You All

A number of you will know, from my previous posts, that I've had a 45 year wait and a hiccup at the last hurdle before this AS was mine. So I felt it was well worth posting a few snaps for you to share the joy and excitement of my first 'Ling.......the first of a number, I hope. Well, four sons requires four family heirlooms, doesn't it ??

An awesome watch. I cannot imagine how good it must feel to have one after such a long wait.

I'm sure your sons are already telling you that you not only need 3 more, but are helping you choose! Enjoy the new piece, and enjoy a less than 45 year wait for the next one.

Many congratulations! 45 years is a heck of a long time to wait, but if you've got the bug now, I'm sure it'll be far far less till the next.

All the best and enjoy your fine piece.

Love the grey dial. I think you picked a great watch that even in 20-30 years from now will be appreciated. I wonder what the watch trend will be like then? :?:

Congratulations on your new pick, Colonel!
I have seen a lot of Black Dial AS's, but the grey dial looks simply stunning!
So,what are you picking up for the other 3 sons? :P

In answer to your question, Mercury, I have a deposit sitting on a Navi World with white face and a tan croc deployment strap; it's locked in my AD's safe as we speak and, boy, does it look handsome. I tried it on when I picked up the AS and had a little inner tussle with myself as to which one to take on the day. I decided the AS would be a better bet as that is my 'day' watch and I'll therefore get to wear it much more, whereas th Navi World will be my 'special', for 'high days and holidays' etc. I'm hoping to pick that up early in the new year.....maybe a birthday treat mid Jan. At the moment I'm just enjoying the AS to the max, for sure. :D

As for the two after that, I think I'll savour the true pleasure of 'the chase'. The selection process will be an enjoyable indulgence now the pressure's off, so to speak, as a 'Ling now adorns my wrist...........can't stop looking at it

Take care, my friends.......and thanks for all the kind comments.

:D Nice to see you have finally got there, enjoy wearing a super watch.
Just be careful you dont trip up on Skiddaw or Cat Bells when you are looking down to check the time every 2 minutes!

Happy New Year

Beautiful watch, colonel -- and welcome to the Skyland Club. :)
I think you're going to treasure that piece for years and years
to come. If I ever get a camera (soon, I hope :? ) I'll post a
few pics of my blue-dialed/blue Ocean Racer version. Anyway,
enjoy, enjoy, and have a great New Year. :)

Steve
