Or am I completely and utterly nuts? Long story short, this one came up for sale (LNIB), so I gutted half of my box, plus cash, and I got this in exchange.

This is one of those brands IMO that really didn't do much for me in the beginning, and then this one just clicked right away. As I'm a true fan of vintage pieces, what's the next best thing to having an A series 5402...
Image

From the petite tapisserie navy dial, to the JLC based thin auto movement, completely down the AP logo at 6, this one is in a sense of the great re-issues of all time IMO. And a sapphire caseback doesn't hurt at all either. And as much as I like some of the Offshore stuff, this one is and will be a forever classic.

All in all, It hurt so bad in the beginning having to trade in three for one, but after the FedEx man coming in the morning, all is good again in the world.

Beautiful! I moved my collection for my AP diver, and have zero regrets. So there is nothing wrong with you and you have great taste in fine timepieces. Congrats!

To answer your initial question, no. There is no hope. But what a wonderful lack of hope you have.

Well, you know how I feel about these, having owned the previous iteration on a white dial. The dial is artwork, and the way the light just cascades up and down the squared surfaces of the bracelet is like nothing else. That display back and rotor, beautiful.

Since there is no hope for you, enjoy every bit of this fantastic piece while you have it. I did mine. I miss it sometimes. That's because there's no hope for me either, nor for most of us here. And yet, hope for the next one, whatever it may be, springs abundant. That's for another day, however. Congratulations on owning one of the finest watches in existence.

Congrats! I'm glad you were able to make the move. I go back and forth on something like this or a Patek almost daily.

Thanks everyone!

And yes Scott I'd knew you'd chime in. To be honest I never really realized the full beauty, the simplicity and the historical significance of the Jumbo until recently. I actually got to test drive one for a few days as one of my watch buddies picked one up two months and needless to say it grew on me big time.

MFSerge: The BP is still surviving. It was too early to let go.

Love that watch, grail status!

So how does the watch box stand now? Is it about time to move your Lings?

So you have the Jumbo and kept the FF? That's a powerful, powerful combo.
