Just saw this pictoral review of a Basel trip over on TRF-- some fascinating pieces, many off the beaten path. Don't think there's anything wrong to linking it here.

Impressive review! It's nice that you took the time to do a walk through like that for everyone to see, for those of us who could not make it! Thanks again!!
Those Damascus G&S pieces are quite choice IMO!

50 or so wristshots from Basel, open words about the meh Rolex launches a
and some great pieces from the Palace.

Roff will like some of the whackier designs, I love the Voutilainen pieces and the Haldimann, what an about face from last year.

Not a watch there I don't like, and yes, several that I 'need'. The Swatch isn't too shabby either!

knew so. afraid some of your "needs" will require publishing a book that tops the NYT besteller list for a year or more.

but that Omega Bullhead with the GMT bezel ......

and yes, the Swatch is quite a relevant step in movement production, gives them the tools to compete with the lowest manual labor costs, as it is fully robot built. 1 screw, the rest is machine welded. potential game changer for "Swiss Made", though probably not what most of us mean by it.

Curious about so many there, and in the post I found, and the breadth of offerings is remarkable. I gravitate to the conceptually affordable, so:

Tissot keeps putting out some of the best retro pieces, and you know they will be affordable.
For some reason I didn't want to like the "dark side" Omega, but with every picture it seems to look better.
Kind of the same thing with the Tudor Black Shield (only one variant shown in the first post) but I can't wait to see the line they bring to the U.S. Ceramic for $5K?
The Bullhead--best pic yet.
Way out of my range but UN is putting out fascinating pieces
A lot of regulators, easier than ever to read, and therefore more attractive.

Thanks, Fred.
