Post subject:  How to Upload Pictures - Please Read if you need Help!
Updated: Since the new forum software allows uploading of photographs. Yay! New phpBB3 now allows uploading of pics.

You should be able to upload fairly easily from the posting screen. However, if your photos exceed the maximum size, and you cannot resize:

1. Go to http://www.photobucket.com and open an account.
2. Upload your images there.
3. Get the code from that page where it says "IMG Code - Forums & Bulletin Boards" And paste that into your post, and voila! Your photo will appear.

iv'e registered but lost at No 3 on the list because i don't know what your refering to!,{Get the code from that page where it says "IMG Code - Forums & Bulletin Boards" And paste that into your post, and voila! Your photo will appear}.


do you mean on the BS site or the Photobucket site?.
iv'e uploaded the pics ok but don't know how to post on the BS site.

Just copy IMG in photobucket and paste it in the post.

Once you have uploaded your image to photobucket bring your mouse pointer over to the image you want to post here. A box will pop up with 4 options. The last one is IMG code. Copy the line of code in that box and then paste it here when you are posting.

Its advisable to reduce the size of your pics before entering them into Photobucket as the forums can only accept certain sizes.........is there an ideal size in this forum?
It would make it simpler to do the deed first time......... :?

No limit that I am aware of. Certainly is a limit for direct attachments here - 250k.

@f1bmp, what error are you getting and is it a forum error or Photobucket error?

My Photobucket account has laid idle for ages as i used to use it for uploading my Daimler Pics for my forum.......but now i go back with some Ling uploading i cant get it to upload any of my pics from my PC..........took me ages to fathom out how to get a decent / detailed pic of the lings.........but i am almost there on that one........can uploading to this site be possible with the correct file size???........just a thought.....Joe

Sometimes to avoid the hassle of using Photobucket I will resize my photos using this http://www.picresize.com/ A 50% reduction in size of large photos will usually fit on this site.

Thats handy to know........my MGI photo site can resize to any size for uploading......so i dont need a URL to post a smaller size in here then?..........Joe

Not if you download the pic to your computer in the proper size. Just simply click on the browse button in the screen where you upload your posts and find the pic on your computer. Select it by double clicking on it and hit the "submit" button or you can click it and hit the "add the file" button if you want to do some more editing to your post.
