I have always wanted a V12, so decided to buy one (BMW 760li)

The World has taken control of the engine.

A V12 is always an exceptional engine.

So, if you have the chance to enjoy one from the German maker of the first postwar V12, so much the better.

Enjoy its smoothness in good health and many long journeys. :)

Sure! What kind would you like...I was going to take one of the World in the fridge that's in the backseat...I'll do that tomorrow.

I've always wanted a nice v12 too, never driven one though. How does it compare to a nice V8 like an XKR 5 litre or a 458?

I have an ML500 and Jaguar XJR, both V8's (also had an S55 AMG that I sold) - definitely you don't feel the bumps in the road like you do with the ML500 (you feel EVERYTHING in the ML). For a car that's heavier than the XJR, I feel it handles a lot tighter and devours curves even better than the XJR (which is impressive). XJR you feel bumps in the road also, but in the BMW it's pretty insignificant.

The acceleration in the 760 is very smooth (but honestly expected it to be more of a fast burst - I think just had my hopes up too high about that, but still quick acceleration), but my new favorite toy in it that I discovered yesterday is the thing that adjusts cruise control automatically!! This is amazing, I love it! I set my cruise control to 70 mph, then if there is a car in front of me it will automatically slow down, and then speed up when the car moves out of the way.

Also, expect to make friends at the gas station, since you will always be there.....$93.50 to fill the tank yesterday - more than the ML even ($60ish) and the Jaguar ($50ish).

Here is a new pic - I call it the World on Ice....basically a photo I took with my iPod with the Navitimer World in the fridge that's built into the armrest on the backseat.

Holy hell you have some nice cars!

Did you like the S55? It's a good looking car but from the pics I've seen, the 760 has a more exciting interior and it looks more user-friendly. Autocruise is plain badass

Thanks! I used to like the S55, but it just didn't DO ANYTHING for me, it's a gorgeous car, but I felt old driving it (same I feel with the ML500, but I need it for off road use - aka fishing).

What is commonly known as ACC or Active Cruise Control.

Combined with the Navi (in a forum like this, I have to specify it means Navigation) it even brakes the car down if a specific road or segment is programmed and it judges the speed of the 760iL not adapted to the road characteristics.
