Here's my recently acquired (Saturday) superOcean 44. Couldn't bond with the chrono' version, but very, very happy indeed with this lovely piece.

Cheers.

Looks great! Just out of curiosity, why didn't you like the chrono version?

Well the the height was just a tad too much, a la Avenger Seawolf, this in turn made the winding crown seem a little too small in relation to caseband width. The screw down pushers were difficult to grasp for screwing out or in. Also the dial, although well executed was just a little too crowded which impaired legibility, this obviously has to do with the relatively small dial size in relation to overall diameter. With the angled font of the numerals on the 12 hour sub-dial it ''appeared'' like the hand was slightly out of plum at the rest position. I would compare the watch with my Tutima Grand Classic chrono' 43mm which had a greater dial area due to the thinner coin-edge bezel & the all important legibility was much, much better. It is still a fantastic watch though & these are purely my personal gripes. Having looked at the SO44 diver after purchasing the chrono' this watch felt completly at home on my wrist so the chrono' had to go. As they say, ''it's better to have loved & lost than to never have loved at all'' :D

Looks great. I like the touch of yellow. I bet you'll never complain about legibility on this one.
