Fellow B colleagues,
I purchased my SO almost two months ago and I have been wearing it all the time because I love it However, the other day I dropped it on the floor and it fell on one of the lugs and I got a nasty scratch/dent...

Sorry no pics, dont have a very good cam, but the scratch/dent is pretty bad. Fortunately tho not "really" visible when I wear the watch since its located on the bottom of the upper left lug (@ 11 o'clock). Despite this, I know that it is there and I am not very happy about it

I recently ordered a deployment folding buckle with a black leather strap to match my black dial. Do you guys think when I go in to my AD to get it fitted that they could at least try to buff the damage or at least ameliorate the situation a little bit?

Ever since, I read a few threads on here about scratches and how they can be painfull but at the same time give character to the watch and make for great stories...Thus, I was wondering if you guys could also share some cool stories and pics as well about scratches so we can all feel better about these things that happen

It's difficult to know if they can polish it out without seeing it, but I had a fairly bad scratch / dent polished out by my AD on the part of my Cockpit case that holds the crystal (the part inside the bezel).

I'll try and find some photos pre-polishing.

My heart went out to you, when you described what happened
to your watch. I think that's the most frightening thing about
having a nice timepiece -- facing those hazards day in, day out.

Luckily, I've incurred only minor dents and scratches on my watches,
although my Steelfish recently survived a potential disaster.
I was working at my computer, the Steelfish sitting on my desk
next to me. In comes my cat, Truman, who decides he wants to jump
up onto the desk and help me work.

Well, before I could stop him, up he comes, landing square
on the Fish. I tried to stop him, which I shouldn't have done,
because it scared him and he leaped off the table, knocking
the Fish onto the wooden floor.

Of course, I immediately checked the piece for damage --
miraculously only a couple small scratches on the side of the case.
With my trusty Cape Cod and 30 minutes of polishing, I was able
to remove the marks completely. I no longer keep my watches
on the desk. The cat still comes and goes as he pleases, of course.

Maybe a good polishing with a Cape Cod can at least make that
nasty dent less noticeable. Good luck, and let us know how everything

Thanks for sharing that story...by the way funny you should mention the Cape Cod cloths...I just ordered some yesterday so needless to say I am looking forward to receiving them so I can put them to use. Also I am being optimistic that my AD would be able to help as well.

On the bright side, Breitling is not kidding about the toughness and ruggedness of their watches...they are awesome. I am becoming very loyal to the brand...that is for sure

I have an annoying stracth on mine but nothing a quick polish wont remove...
