WatchFred suggested I fire up some pics of my recently acquired Havana Aviastar. It took forever to get, they really are rare, some of you may have seen this on the 'other ' forum. Anyways, here it is.

I've a black one too, but I'm sure you know what those look like, and my camera is no good at macro stuff, so here I've shown only my Havana - I kept hold of some decent pics via the dealer.

Question: I think I need more clang. Should I just get something like this and have done?

Suggestions from Cruzon most valued...

Looks great, very classy, though you didn't state it's clangometer rating;). Also some wrist shots?

Yes, you're right, it needs putting thru' the clangometer, only I've been chastised by the unbelievers of the clang, for using it, but I'm sure they won't mind you giving it a prod, so as one of the faithful, I've sent it to you.

So that you know where the bench-mark is, I did try the clangometer on this diamond studded beauty previously:

Image

As I'd expected, it did extremely well - 92%! We've found a disciple. A follower of the clang. We shall annoint him.

Image

This got 89%. And it went to 99% when i tested for walts on the 'Walt-ometer'

To get an idea of what the 'Walt-ometer' tests for, go to: http://www.arrse.co.uk/wiki/Walt

The clangometer is a holy instrument so look after it. Nay revere it. For 'He' died for his sins, so that he may save us. The gold & emerald studded button is the one you want. Let me know how my Havana does.

A proper "I've bought the dream" wrist-shot is what is required. I'll do one. Me, the watch and photocopy of a casually thrown, B52 flight manual, just out of focus, in a glider cockpit. Yes, we know what you want - standby.

cruzon, follow the light, for it is written, this is true faith.

ClangMessiah signing off

Apparently the subtle comments yesterday didn't get through, so........

You have managed to generate more PMs from members about you than any other person in a very long time, and certainly more than any new member. None of the comments have been positive and I have already been asked to "ban this idiot" on several occasions.

Being an idiot is not grounds to be banned here, so that's not going to happen, but sooner or later (I suspect sooner the way that you are going) the comments are going to start being public and directed at you in a less polite manner.

On a more serious note.......

A number of members have suggested that they find some of your comments insensitive at best and potentially offensive. The rules of the forum clearly state "Respect your fellow posters! Not everyone is the same as you or has the same opinion as you, so please try and be open-minded. Respect other people's opinions and they will respect yours."

A number of your posts could be considered to be against the spirit if not the words of that rule, and that is something that is taken seriously.

Since your subtle comments (they did get through), I've directed stuff purely to cruvan, at least by the flavour of his posts, he seems happy with it. Since then, everyone else - I've left alone.

I'm a big boy now, and old enough, and I'm sure that applies to those on here are too. I rather hope they don't have the same opinion as me. I certainly won't be upset about anything anyone says about a watch of mine. Indeed. I'm sure some think mine's a pile of p**. Mock it, do as you do. I'm very self-aware. I'll live.

It's a watch. Only a watch.
if the protocal on here is to say only nice things, rather than what you're really thinking, then what's the point?

In fact, I'd be far more intereseted in the negative comments, if backed up with reasoned argument, I reckon I might learn something. And taht would be valuable to us all. I can't be wasting time on empty posts that go "Nice piece" "Sweet" etc etc. So what?

So for that reason, if that's what is required, I suspect I won't be around much longer anyway.

I certainly, despite my stupidly proposterous psuedo-religious claims, don't really see how I can claim any right "To not be offended", so why there are those out there crying to you I don't know. Is that what they want? Why? I really must be the idiot.

Because to wear soem the watches on here, you've really got to have some balls... and they must be made of cast-iron, because if you haven't the gravitas to carry it off, people must be laughing at you - just not to your face.

I really would like to run with the guy that has the gravitas to wear that "Emergency' 'thing' above. I'd happily taek a roasting from him. Why because I'd learn something, only at this stage I don't know what.

I says he's a 'WALT' full of cr*p, but I might be so, so, so, wrong. Then I'm the idiot. A 24 carat one.

I'll try to keep within the spirit of the forum, but I'm sure this is not a democarcy, why should it be. If I don't tow the line, you'll knock the account, or my comments will be met with such wilting fire from the kind of guys that can wear that 'thing' I'll be forced into retreat.

For me it's a watch. A great watch, but only a watch.

I'll put one more post up on my er... ethos soon. We'll soon find out if it fits.

I'm sorry as mod, you've had to deal with flak. I saw none of it, directed to me, I actually had no idea, Sorry.
