...to figure it out. I've been a watchnut for several years, and have a special affinity towards chronograph sport watches. Well, after trying out several brands including what I thought was my grail watch, the SS Rolex Daytona (owned both the white dial and black dialed zenith el primero based Daytonas, but couldn't do without date function on a daily basis), I soon realized that what really caught my eye was the Breitling Crosswind Special. I just love the look, design, and heft of the watch, and the large double date function is awesome. I finally actually acquired one in 2006, but ended up selling it because it wasn't really in that good shape, and felt that I should keep my Navitimer instead since it was purchased new and in such great condition, and the fact that other people told me they thought the Navi looked nicer.

Well, ever since I sold it, I found I was always searching around for another one. Years went by as I ended up getting married, had a kid, bought house, etc., but still the only watch I really wanted was the Crosswind Special. In fact, I remember I ended up buying the Navi because the Crosswind Special was no longer being produced, and didn't want to buy a used one in iffy condition. Well, after 6 yrs, I finally found a mint conditioned/just serviced CWS again, and this time, it's gonna be a keeper for good! What I realized after all this time was that I wanted a watch that had the following qualities: Had to be a chronograph, have at least 100m water resistance rating (as I wanted a watch that I could bring on vacation and swim with), have a tricompax subdial layout (as I like that symmetry), a date function (as I just need it for convenience), be automatic winding (I like my Speedy Pro, but don't really like winding it), have at least 41mm in case width (my smaller than 40mm watches seem small on me now). The CWS had all these qualities, and so I had to have it. I wish they still made these so that I could buy it new, but this'll have to do. Well, enough talk, here are the pics, and I hope you enjoy them...it's great to be back!...if you've gotten this far, thanks for reading all this rambling...
