After 2 1/2 years with the original Droid, it was time for a new phone. The rest of my family has iphones which were nice but had some mixed reviews--daughter loves hers, wife not sure yet, and wishes she got a larger screen. Anyway, I ended up sticking with a Droid, an HTC Rezound, because the Verizon iphone is still 3g and various and sundry other reasons. The thing has an 8mp camera so with a few minutes this afternoon, I decided to give it a try. Happy Mother's Day:

For some reason, the black/white feature just made sense with the Navi Heritage:

Detail is definitely superior to the camera in my old phone, however:

The old camera never got lume shots well. This one...does

Next is my Headwind, back from service and a partial cleanup. Like this shot:

They did a really nice job on the bezel:

lume remains pretty good on the old piece:

Finally, the AP. I'll need more work on this but I'm trying to show how thin the piece is, movement and dial to crystal. It's hard to capture, but these are first efforts. And the thing actually has decent lume. The minute hand actually causes a reflection on the machined dial below:

That's all for now. At least my more occasional pictures will have a little more pop to them.

Nice Scott. Oddly enough, I was at Verizon today picking up the iPhone 4s, also 8mp Here is the first pick I took and was amazed -

It is amazing how one camera couldn't get much lume at all and the new ones have no problem. IPhone has the best camera, I think, though a few of the droids are close. Need to work on shot steadiness now--there's a little movement on my le shots. At least the quick shots won't be quite as embarrassing.

Sorry Scott if this upsets you, but I had a little time to kill between trying to fix my old MacBook Pro and well doing nothing so I brushed up your shot for the Navitimer Heritage.

Hope you like the small change in sharpness and color.

That AP sure is thin. :)

I accidentally deleted (along with a couple additional pictures) some direct side shots. The distance from crystal to dial is amazingly thin. The movement is as well, though partly obtained by not having a second hand. So far it hasn't bothered me.

If I can get a little more practice, I will try to take better overall shots. I've been thinking about doing a mini-review.
