In2Deep, It sure is...I was an S-3 guy a long time ago before transitioning to the Prowler several years ago...now that plane is just about gone too! The Growler (EA-18G) will be a great new aircraft to take the Prowler's place. That is a bummer about losing all those planes...they told us when I started in this business some twenty years ago that if you stayed in for 20 years you would definitely know several folks involved in mishaps and know a few that would die...that has been the case two. I have lost several good friends and seen a couple of jets crash myself. We are doing well safety-wise, but these things happen even with the best of safety programs in place. |
