After an 8 month wait, the new Explorer 2 just arrived. I LOVE IT. The additional 2mm adds a noticeable size increase compared to the GMT IIc and Sub C. The case also feels beefier and it is quite heavy. The white dial isn't bright, it isn't cream, it’s a perfect blend of gloss/matte white. The markers which are outlined in a glossy black paint jump off the dial. The orange GMT hand is a lot less imposing in person than in photo. In photos, the orange GMT hand seems to dominate the dial, but in the flesh it blends in nicely and my eyes don’t immediately go there first. I love how the black GMT numbers jump off the brushed bezel. My only complaint is the hands have a bit too much glossy black paint; they could have a touch less while still making the hands easily readable. Overall, I am very very pleased with this watch and it was well worth the 8 month wait. Here is a quick shot. Tomorrow I am going to take some side by side shots next to my GMT IIc.

Wow, gorgeous watch! Hadn't seen it until now. Can't wait to see all your pics.
Good pickup!

Looks great. Congrats. 8 months since you paid for it??

Would love to know the lug end to lug end length. Most rolex are rather long for their diameter. It's not like I can hop over to the local AD and try one out.

Rolex needs to get some inventry out. They had plenty for over a year from what I'm told. Some guy was trying to hawk one on another site for $11K. Good grief.

No, I paid for it two months ago to ensure I'd get this AD's first white dial and they came through.

Lug to lug length is 49 mm. GMT IIc came in at 47mm.

Yeah! I'm liking that one a lot. Congrats Sergio.

Will have to get myself down to the AD to check them out when they arrive here (I will not take my wallet with me, however).

Congrats, 8 mths -wow, could of almost had a child while you were waiting!

I do like what looks to be wider (bolder) hour and minute hands than on some of their models. Color looks nice also, orange GMT hand gives it a more sporty presence IMO. Now, just get that extra chunk of glass sticking up off the crystal and your in business  .

Enjoy!

Really nice, I may have to start looking at Rolex.... now that they have a 42mm.

Big, BIG congrats Sergio! I know that the wait has been killing you, and I am happy to hear that the Exp42 lived up to the very high expectations you had for it.

Fantastic pic by the way...

Can't argue that, the GMT IIc is the perfect watch.

Sergio, that is a BEAUTY! Love the black on the indices and hands. It's the only white dial that really pops and has excellent legibility in my opinion. The size looks perfect, and fits your wrist well. Congrats on a GREAT piece. 8)
