First of all, thanks for all the helpfull information/links here at Breitling Source. Very nice to read topics and see pictures from passioned people!

I've always been interested in quality watches, but never felt the urge to buy one. Untill a few months ago... I walked past a local jeweler who had a SuperOcean Heritage 46 in the window. I immediately fell in love with it. So I walked into the store to try it on.

Some people told me that buying a quality watch is like buying a nice car (my other passion). Well not in this case. There was no information from the salesguy at all. I had to drag it out of him if I wanted to know something. I felt like I was wasting his time. I have pretty small wrists, so the 46 was to big. In stead of helping me find another watch (then I didn't know the SOH was available in other sizes) the salesguy just said "too bad..." and walked away...

After some Google-ing I found what I was looking for; this wonderfull information-source. I quickly found out there also is a SOH 38, but also that packaging and paperwork are important when buying a Breitling. A friend of the family gave me the right address (official dealer by the way) to get the experience matching the brand. I gave them a call and on the 23th of July I got what I hoped for.

The gentleman at the jewelery took some Breitling models to determine what I like. The SOH 46 was one of them. I told him I found it to big for my wrist. Then he walked into the back of the shop and came back with this "new size", the 42. If I'm told correct the SuperOcean 42 is launched the week/month before I bought it? Anyhow, the watch I fell in love with, in the perfect size!!

It came with a steel "Ocean Classic" strap, but I prefered the rubber "Ocean Racer". I hope I don't get addicted to this as well... :lingsrock:

Any tips for keeping it as nice as it is?

hope you don't get addicted? Get over the denial, it's already happened.

Yes the SOH42 is new this year and a very nice piece with the correct size IMO. Congrats on a super choice. :lingsrock:

Congrats on the SOH42. I think that this change was a good move on Breitling's part, as the 46mm version was too big for a lot of people. The watch looks great on your wrist...hope you have many years of enjoyment with her!!

42mm seems like the perfect size for this watch. I can't wait to try one on myself.

Congrats on your new watch.

Congrats on a beautiful piece! This is may very well be my next. It would be great if a steel bracelet option was available that was actually attractive, but the watch is stunning!

Just wish I could find a dealer in the suburbs who had one in the case so I could try it on! Do enjoy!

Congratulations! I too am the proud owner of the same SOH 42, but with the ocean racer bracelet. I've worn it consistently for the past two weeks and it is noticeably heavier than I thought it would be... especially when I go to an AD and try on other watches, which I've done numerous times on my honeymoon.

How is the SOH with the ocean racer strap in terms of weight?
I am looking into getting the diver pro II strap to increase the versatility of the SOH, but I'm a little hesitant at the moment.

Congrats, that's one fo the only new models that I really like. 42mm is a perfect size for the SOH. Enjoy.
