Thank you gents! This came across my radar and it caught my attention. The Master Compressor GMT. If I am not mistaken, 2nd hand market would go for between $3k-$4k? Not sure I can pull the size though, its 44mm, right?

I would think that you would be looking closer to $4,500-5,000 for one used. There are 2 versions of the MC-GMT...one is 44mm and one is 46mm. The 44mm version wears slightly smaller IMO. |

Love the clear/simple/purpose dial and how easy it is to read. How much would that model go for used? Thanks |

Don't see a lot of them for sale used, but I have seen sale prices listed from $6,500 to just over $7,000 (not saying that they actually sold for that price). I would suggest getting one of those new. You should be able to land a good discount on it, and get a new one for that price. If you do decide to go with one I would heavily suggest the articulated rubber bracelet. It is incredible!! |

Alex, not surprisingly "my" Jaeger Lecoultres are a little different. But, as our tastes in Montbrillants are similar, you might like to see some vintage JLC ? I love the Futurematics (for those who never saw these, something is missing in those pics that normally every watch has ?), an inhouse movement with so much technical innovation in the early 50s, that it - so the story goes - almost drove JLC into bankruptcy. And some Memovoxes, from the early 50s to the 70s. All of them definitely not too large for your wrist ....

Thanks Fred for the info on JLC! There are some fantastic current JLC models that I like but size wise they won't fit me and the price is steep. The vintage JLC look awesome btw, I hadn't considered looking at them. I'll do some research, I like the model with the two sub-dials at the 3 and 9 o'clock positions. On a side note, I've been talking to a few sellers on ebay for the Monty's that are up for sale there but with no avail...yet. |

Claimed to be the "first fully automatic watch" it has a very nice feature: When the watch is not in use, it will run down to about 6 hours of power reserve and then automatically stop, when you pick it up, the stopwork disengages and the watch starts to run; there is no way to "wind" the watch manually. It is among the only watches where the rotor is suspended both above and below the movement, so there is no possibility of lateral movement, major problem cause with many automatics. complex, rather overengineered, but very nice.
