My package arrived today and it was about all of the waiting I could handle. Man I could not be happier with the Chronomatic 24H!!!! This thing is just flat out cool, and harks back to the days when a Breitling looked like it had a purpose and function.

My first impression was that it was much heavier than I anticipated. Officially being part of the navi line, I somewhat expected the watch to wear bigger and tougher than my standard navi, but man this thing has that Breitling feel to it. Just beefy!!!!

The details that this dial has are a functional work of art. I love the business of the 24 H dial, and expect to get the hang of the layout with time. Until then I wont be surprised if I catch myself staring at the dial for extended periods...Not a bad thing though.




The 44 mm case wears perfectly on a flat caseback that makes the watch sit very comfortably on the wrist. I am starting to think this watch was tailor made for me...



I have always been drawn to straps, and was uncertain about finding the right bracelet for my 6.75 inch wrists. The regular Navi bracelet is a bit too polished for me, but I do like the smaller links. I think the fit will be much better on my slender appendages. Now that I have worn the brushed Navi bracelet for a few hours I know what all the fuss is about on the Breitling Navitimer bracelets. This thing is just perfect!!!



I could not be happier with the addition to my B family.




I ultimately came to the CM 24 as an intermediate for the SOH and Navi. The perfect size for when a Navi is too fragile and the SOH is too beefy. It was about this time last year when I first started looking for a Breitling after wearing a hamilton for some time, and I am very happy with the direction I have gone. I am not a huge fan of the direction Breitling has decided to take but, with the classics I have gathered I am not too concerned.

Congrats!! It is very cool looking. I don't think I could ever acclimate to the 24 hour dial, but wish I could because it is truly a sweet timepiece. But then I'm the guy who can't remember the date without a date function. 14 minus 10...no 14 minus 12 = ...........

Thanks fellas. I am beyond excited about adding the iconic CMatic. The purchase was a no brainer the moment I opened the box.

The CMatic had to grow on me, if I am completely honest. I tried one on some time back and thought it was nce, but was looking at BB's at the time, so I brushed it off.

It really just fits so well.....the comfort is just amazing. The bracelet is just silky smooth on the wrist. and as RJRJRJ said in a post earlier this week....This thing looks so much better in the flesh.

A Few Breitlings.

thomasenlow1, do you care that all your collection is black dial? Is that something you consider? I am looking for a new piece to add this summer and I was looking for a white dial for diversification purposes since my navi and SO have black dials. However, going through the source, I see a lot of now discontinued models that I would really like to own (BB for instance) even though they're black dials. I had been looking at an IWC Portuguese chrono in white or an IWC spitfire UTC in white but if I am honest I am not as crazy about them as I thought I would be or as crazy as I am about Breitling. All this is bittersweet given all the recent changes with B. But I am an optimist and I will give Breitling time to see where they end up regardless of their relentless lust to capture EM market share...

I do think about it and have had many cross into the radar that I really wanted to pull the trigger on. Variety is the spice of life after all.

I also was looking at the IWC brand, and I had a brief online affair with the same Port Chrono and also the white Aquatimer 2000 (Both for different reasons obviously).

When it all came down to it I realized that with a rotation of fewer than 5 watches (the number I figure I can justify within the next couple years and budget), there wasn't much room for picking a watch just based on the dial color.

That being said I decided function over form, (or in this case aesthetics) and went for watches that really had a place in my rotation. If the dial happened to be black then so be it. Beyond that...I also felt that I would rather have a collection of Breitling's that all had a specific classic style than a bunch of nice watches from different brands.

Variety and owning watches across several brands has its place for lots of folks but for me I felt like there was more bang for the buck sticking with a "theme" and a brand. That brand for me is Breitling

All said and done....My next watch will be a white/silver dial watch. I think that Transocean Chrono will fit quite nicely with my current crew.
