Posted this the other day on TZ...

This year is the 100th anniversary of U.S. Naval Aviation. To commemorate the event, Breitling released a limited edition Airwolf, with the anniversary logo on the dial and steel bezel. Limited to 500 pieces. There are many aviation events/airshows throughout the country with regards to this. The kick-off event was at Naval Station North Island in San Diego a few weeks ago. I attended the event, and the amount of aircraft on display was truly amazing. While there, I could not help but think about my father. He enlisted in the navy at 17, and flew as an aerial observer. His mission, during the Korean war, was to look for downed aircraft and rescue them. Ironically his aircraft was shot down over the sea, but he survived and was thankfully rescued. 50 years later I was an aerial observer/gunner doing casualty evacuation missions as a Marine in Iraq. My dad and I earned the same wings - combat aircrew. So as I thought about this, I decided I would not let the opportunity pass to get this special watch.

Very nice story and the watch looks great. I really like it on rubber.

As a side note I'm extremely jealous of the blue skies and sunshine wherever it is you're taking those pictures.

Great story, 46crew. And I've said it before, but the LE Airwolf models are so much nicer than the standard models as they don't have the chopped off "6" or the other huge numbers. Very nice indeed.
