Finally decided to register over here due to my growing desire for this incredible brand! The Breitling Chrono Superocean is a watch that was on my mind a while back. Having spent a lot of my time obsessing over Rolex I feel long over due for some variety, change and a true tool watch to keep the rest of my life. This watch has some neat features that are fairly useful and never owning an Automatic Chronograph in the past it seems the only way to go! Was always a huge fan of aviation or wanting to fly from the time I was a kid and also love the ocean and dive watches. This watch seems to have everything desired in one great looking package! Not to mention this brand has an excellent history behind them. Any additional tips or information on this particular model is greatly appreciated. What are pre owned prices like currently on this? Seems as if Breitling in general has some great deals due to the initial depreciation. I am leaning more towards the Blue dial on the polished Pro II bracelet :joy: Anyway, let's see some pictures of these great watches! I will start things off:

The SOC is a super sweet Breitling! There's lots of members here that are very happy with theirs! BTW, is that yours in the pic or you haven't picked it up yet? There are some great sites where you can find one used or just check out the buy/sell section here. A beautiful blue dial just sold a few days ago

I've had mine since just after the new year, but I still haven't had time to take pics yet. Mine's the black dial on Pro II bracelet. I bought it as a replacement for my gray-dial Chronomat, and I'm actually happier with the CSO. It fits better and looks nicer, although I will confess I'm still partial to the Pilot bracelet. (The Pro II is no slouch, though.) The CSO is very practical. It has a day/date feature, chronograph, and diver bezel with number markings around the entire bezel (rather that just at the cardinals or the first 15 minutes). It's a great tool watch, but is nice enough looking to be worn in any number of situations; it even looks good with my suits. It's a terrific "only" watch, or a great everyday wearer. I don't know about used prices, but even at a well-discounted new price, the CSO is a bargain among Breitlings.

If you are going to get one new, you'd best hurry up - they are discontinued along with the regular Superocean and the Steelfish.

BTW, personally I like them very much. ;-)

Wow...that's news I hadn't heard. I can't say I'm that surprised, but it's a disappointment, to be sure.

It's true. Not sure what Breitling has up it's sleeve for this segment of the line. My contact at the AD was wondering why she hadn't received the Breitling year end spiff she ordered - a black dial Steelfish. Likely because BUSA is out - no mas.

So glad to hear that :D I wish that was mine in the pictures from my original post  Was just doing a Google search to find pictures of the watch and stumbled on that eye catcher. A member from this forum posted that some time back. Used would be a great option! Does Breitling register their watches like Rolex or if I buy a used one that hassle is eliminated? My guess is they do not because the warranty paperwork only really has the purchases date, serial number and all of that stuff but no name.

Nice! Hopefully you can get a chance very soon to take some pictures and post on the forum :lingsrock: The Pro II bracelet is by far my favourite one and gives the watch such a nice dressy touch that like you say makes it work with just about anything. For me i'm not a dress watch type person even when dressed up for something special. A lot of fairly sporty, tool watches look fantastic with any attire and can pull that off so long as the wearer wants to. It really is the ultimate all in one watch :wowzers The AD here told me it is MSRP $4,160.00 CAD for the Breitling Chrono Super ocean at this point and time. If they offer a 20% discount that is roughkly $3,760.00 CAD out the door. This is A LOT of watch for that price even, no doubt :D

Very nice! Can easily see why you would want both of those   Really hope to be able to buy it brand new ASAP. Right now my D Series Rolex Explorer II is for sale. Like the watch but Rolex Canada and their system on how it is registered and they are un willing to check serial numbers for me even in person with the seller at Rolex HQ here has put me off. Breitling at the main AD here was even telling me things to look out for fakes and that their watch maker in the store will look over any pre owned purchases for me! No other brand or dealer offers this type of assistance at least not in Toronto! At the end of the convo she welcomed me to the world of Breitling, top notch sales lady. Rolex is nice but getting sick of a lot of things about them. My main issue with my Explorer II other than what was listed above with registration and checking is the fact it has hollow center links :guns: :guns: :guns: :guns: :guns: When this watch gets wet those hold moisture and are SOOOOOO darn annoying!!!! Plus they can trap dust and dirt over time so one has to go above and beyond with cleaning. Might need an ultra sonic cleaner sooner or later regardless but will see how fast this watch can sell. If it takes long I may be stuck with it and will try save up for a used CSO :lingsrock: :lingsrock:

Well the superocean is done - replaced by the SOII. One possibility is the Steelfish will resurface as a similar watch with an in-house movement, but it is purely speculative. The CSO (or is it SOC??) will likely not be replaced - it's a good seller but not great and Breitling is clearly making an effort to decrease the models offered.

Another possibility is one or two discontinued models will be replaced by something "novel" along the lines of the Superocean II.

It's anyone's guess and we will know in fits and starts as Basel unveils.

I like the classic bezel/rider tab set up and a concern I had for less expensive Breitlings in the under 44mm range, is we may see that setup disappear as an option. So I doubled down on the Chrono and picked up a 2009 model Superocean.

There is one member here with more inside info than anyone else I know so maybe he will weigh in. Even my AD had no idea what was being discontinued.

And it appears I have hijacked this thread so apologies to the OP.

We might see that setup disappear altogether, given what Breitling is doing to the Windrider line. One of the classic Breitling looks appears to (possibly) be going the way of the dodo.

Along with the Chronomats, Colts, Galactics and some Navis etc.

Actually I have been told they are keeping/reintroducing the Colt line. But yes the Galactics have been a disaster (big surprise). Just ask you local AD - they simply cannot sell them! There will only be 2 or 3 Navis. And everyone's beloved Chronomat (not the B01) gone as well. There will be no more "Ranges" of models, just models.

Imagine the new "Chronolog", just a handful of pages :guns:
