Thanks John I'm using a Nikon D50 with the standard kit lens (Nikkor 18-55mm) on the macro setting & a Nikon Speedlight with a white filter. May try a macro lens next. There are so many lovely pics in the gallery using different props - sweets, bullets! etc it's fun trying to think of ways to present the toys. I was looking at your post earlier - with the winder (superb collection) & just had a look at the B1 - nice, really set off by the stethoscope. I agree about the cape cod cloths, nice smell too! Maybe more time next weekend. |

Sorry guys I guess there's 3 hobbies here really! Hobby 1 - Photography Hobby 2 - Drooling over my watches - then polishing said drool off again! Not necessarily in that order. The paperweights I pinched off my wifes' display! Must remember to put them back next time! Thanks for all your nice comments - now to find some more props! |

@Breitling Bloke Are you sure that your Colt's Ref. is A17035, like your signature tells? I think it should be A17350. Maybe I'm wrong, but I have A17035 and it's a model previous than yours. |

Hi bnewbie You could well be right - got my Monty on today so will check when I get home! I did have an A17035 & it was from about 1998-99 I think. This one's a 2002 model. This is probably a bit of numeral dyslexia! Well spotted! |

Hi Breitling Bloke, Often spot minor things, maybe that's why I like to compare fake and real Lings. ![]() Cheers |

bnewbie Got the numbers right - just in the wrong order. Colt's for sale at the moment so will need to ammend again soon anyway. Don't know what I fancy next - the Aerospace (my 1st one ever) & my new Montbrillant are the core but I'm wondering what direction to go in next. Am on holiday soon so may visit the 2 shops or the AD in Lanzarote for a look. Anyone any experience of buying there? I know the Sterling/Euro situation isn't good at the moment but it may be worth a go. They do really cheap ones in the Sunday market in Teguise!!! Ha ha. |
