This is a thread I want to dedicate to sharkman

I got my hands on the long-ordered Steelfish yesterday :D

Tom, it is only now that I am just beginning to understand why you feel like this about your Fishies. Actually, I had never seen any Steelfish in metal until yesterday. At least here in Switzerland, the Steelfish is not a very common piece (I do not know why) with the various ADs (and believe me I've visited quite a few) preferring the Seawolf. That is maybe one of the reasons I had to wait a few weeks to get mine because none was in stock which, of course guaranteed me a "fresh" from the factory piece. So, I placed my order from the catalog pics.

Sure, I've also seen the various pics on the forum but in metal it sure is something else. Tell you the truth it took me some time to chose between the Seawolf with arabics and the Feesh but I sure am glad of my choice. Maybe I shouldn't say this but am I preferring the Steelfish over my B01? It ain't any bling-bling Breitling and it maybe the cheapest (with the Colt) of the range but who cares? I just LOVE it.

I've chosen the blue dial with an Ocean Racer deployant strap which I think fits perfectly with the dial. It is soooo comfortable I wouldn't believe it.

Here are some quick pics at work, just after pick up.

And here are some more from the next morning before getting to work.

Having said that, and as my AD made a quick check on my B01 (which he found to be on exact COSC specifications after 11 months of constant and daily wear), I asked him what he thought of Rolex compared to Breitling. Now, I know that he has been trying for some time to be an official Rolex AD and his father had worked for many years at Rolex.

He answered that as long as Breitling remains in the hand of the Schneider family we have nothing to fear for the future. He also revealed to me that the 01 in-house movement was developed by 5 engineers that Mr. Schneider persuaded to join Breitling from, guess where, from Rolex. At a certain cost, of course, which is why we are paying a certain premium for 01 equipped pieces. As far as quality between the two is concerned, he told me that the two brands are at the same level now, with the small difference being that Breitling produces maybe 1 mio pieces a year where Rolex produces 10 mio! :cheer:

Great purchase. I love the blue dial, and it looks quite sporty on the blue ocean racer. I agree with many in that the Fish is a good value and great all-around watch.

Enjoy and Happy Holidays! :santa:

Great pick-up. A blue dial fish always creeps into my mind when I start thinking of a next purchase.

The blue-on-blue looks good, I've always been partial to the Seawolf, which I see as kinda its competitor in the aeromarine line, but yours is the best steelie I've seen.

Awesome watch. The "blue" Breitling uses for the SF is such a great color. The price on this watch continues to amaze me. Congrats.

But what is all that white stuff??????

Thanks guys for your kind words. I still cannot get enough of it. Only my B01 gets much less wrist time for the moment :(

@breanach. Enjoy yours too, buddy
