Took a buddy to AD to get his first Ling and couldn’t resist this B4B GT Racing with the glossy black ebony dial. Let’s say I squeezed a “finder’s fee.” The gloss black dial contrasting against the true silver guilloche subs doesn’t come through on these pics, but it really jumped out at me. This one won out over the new LE polished Blacksteel Blackbird and a retro Zenith El Primero – the almost square case with tri-color subs.

Buddy got the SA, white dial. Wish I could pull one of those off. This one will have to do --

I'm pretty sure they have support groups for people like you Shark...

Congrats on the pick up. There have been a lot of black dial additions recently.

I was a wee bit heavy on white dials and light on black. Life is about balance, no?

Off topic, but the office Christmas party was at the Wrigley Mansion last night. Lots of good food, drink, and crazed young paralegals - about 100 of them!!! So at one point I'm sitting alone with my boss - THE boss - and I glance at his wrist - a Blackbird. Now he is absolutely roaring drunk, mind you. I say, "Blackbird?" He responds, "Isssss a Buuuurrrriiiiiiightiiiiiling." I happened to be wearing mine and showed him. Well we became best buds for life at that point. And I was his designated driver later. Though I don't think he remembers any of it today. It was pretty friggin' hysterical though. A whole bunch of stuff decorum prohibits here. :nono:

You know...the more I look at black dialed watches the more I like them. I think that in most cases the black dial has a "richer" look and texture to it.

And about your other story...it's always nice to have a boss that is into watches. My boss (who happens to be the COO of our company) is a huge watch fan. We talk frequently about it. He talks about his next purchase, and I dream about his next purchase.

I think the only thing my boss knew of his watch was that it was a Breitling. Which model? Nah.

When you walk through the door you AD must say ..... :cheer: .... wonder what he's gonna buy today. Congrats it's a beauty, I like it a lot more than your old 'diamond quilted pattern' B4B GTs.

Surprised you haven't gotten an in-house Breitling yet.

Were you really thinking you were gonna resist with white knuckles while your buddy picked up a new one? :poke:

A guy getting his first Ling and I'm supoosed to resist? No, I pretty much gave up any thought of impulse control before we left for the shop.

Tom I am going to need some advance notice before the next fire sale. It looks like it is going to be even better than the last one. I would also appreciate some advance notice before you post it publicly.
