So, some of you may have been following my debate about whether or not to get the Montbrillant Olympus. I finally decided not to, because I would have had to have the colour combo I wanted sent over from England since my local AD didn't have it except in the blue dial.

Instead, I kindly followed the advice of mfserge who suggested I have a look at Maurice LaCroix. After seeing a couple of versions I didn't really like that much, I happened to be passing the AD where I bought my Starliner and they actually had the discontinued model I wanted, the old Masterpiece Phase de Lune, MP6347. (Same shop that also has the blue dial Olympus, they're pretty good about having new old stock...)

Finally have a lovely display back moonphase watch, and my first automatic! :D Better yet, it was less than half the price of the Olympus, which means I can put it towards the final piece in my collection (for now).

Any suggestions? 8)

Aha, you made it happen. Congratulations! That's a great looking piece. I like how it has all the calendar and moon info. and yet such a clean dial. Like the 'pointer' date also. Doesn't look like you'll be having a full moon tonight though  .

The display back is a great bonus. Now you can play with some different straps.

And HAPPY BIRTHDAY ! :strummin:

Kodiak -- yeah, pretty happy about picking this up! :D It's actually a Christmas present, but to get it on my birthday is pretty special. The dial on this one is a beauty, and it's such a small size for the complications considering the price.

Driver8 -- I think it's a bit more classic and less busy than the Olympus, although I still maintain that's a gorgeous looking watch. Not right for me at this point in time though, alas.

Justin -- Thank you! :)

breanach78 -- This isn't the first ML I've tried on, but it's definitely the only one I fell in love with right off the bat. Hopefully it'll last me a long time. And thank you! :)

The four hands look really good, and I love how symmetrical the dial appears. Nice pickup.
