Just got a new Seawolf ss with yellow dial and PRO II bracelet on Saturday. It is a most beautiful and fascinating watch.
It is said that in a good piece of artwork you should be able to see something new and different every time you look at it. This seems to hold true for a lot of the Breitling dials, and for me especially the yellow dial on the Seawolf.
I noticed today that the stenciled numerals on the yellow dial are silvered and not white like the other dials. They look fantastic: matching the shiny bezel ring around the side of the case, and also the frame around the markers and the date window. I remember my friend Ian pointing out the font, especially the work "Automatic" - looking gorgeous. Also, the square near the end of the second hand, which matches the sqareness of the markers, rather than using the arrow hand. The red on the hand really stands out against the yellow background.
Then I looked at the yellow Breitling box on my desk, which contains the manual, warranty and COSC Certificate. The Breitling logo and the word "Breitling" are all in the same silver as the numbers on the dial. Only on the yellow dial, mind you. I figure there must be reason for that other than good looks.
Normally, I am not a fan of dates on dials. In this case, I make an exception. The white background matches the white inside the markers, and the frame around the date window has a small bit of yellow within it, which surrounds the date, much like the matte on a picture.
Sorry this is not a better pic, but you can see all the things I am talking about:

Even the large crown on the Avenger series is ideal to me. Easy to grip and smooth to turn.
An exceptionally beautiful stainless steel case and bracelet, and the gorgeous Breitling yellow dial.
The Ultimate Breitling!!?? :lingsrock:
Cheers,
Carl

I love that watch too but wish they offered it with the baton markers and not the stencil. I have a SA blacksteel which has the stencil numbers and would like something a little different. Great watch though!

Carl

I have the same watch and they are not silver numbers. I compared many times with my skyland (silver hands and numbers) in different light conditions and the seawolf's kind of grey.
anyway... I love my seawolf.

I think you are right! I am looking at it again also. I shall look at it under a loupe at work, maybe I can see when it's magnified. Anway, whatever they did, I think it looks great, too.
Cheers,
Carl

Yes, talk about one extreme to the other!
Believe it or not, the Seawolf is actually the more comfortable of the two. I think that the sheer weight of it, keeps it in place more on the top of my wrist. Also, the weight of the bracelet balances it out. Nevertheless, the Explorer is still dear to my heart.
It is wonderful to have a big, blingy watch like this and still feel comfortable.
Cheers,
Carl

Hey! It's great to be back here and see you again! See that you sold your Seawolf as well as the Omega Hour Vision.
I ended up selling all four of my Omegas, and really don't miss them.
I remember we both had the brown leather strap on the black dial Seawolf! I am really pleased with my yellow dial Seawolf, and now that the new black dial with baton markers is out, I am not quite as sorry I traded my Seawolf last year.
Take care!
Cheers,
Carl
