As previously posted, I had sent off my Superocean professional for an overhaul. Well, I just received it yesterday! WOW, it's amazing how the watch looks (and runs). It looks like a brand new watch! And the time has been spot on. INCREDIBLE..............

Hopefully the pictures work (first time I have tried this, forgive me if it doesn't work correctly). Regards Landshark853

That looks awesome :D
I see on your previous post that you have worn it for 10 years as well.

I don't suppose you have any before shots? :camera:

AiiEEX, there was a huge gouge on the case, just below the number 35. It's now gone. BUSA also cambered/AR coated the crystal. You can imagine, after 10 years, the coating had shown it's age. After 5 years, I had my AD service the watch, but whatever they did, it wasn't to the degree that BUSA serviced it. By the way, what does everyone use to clean the crystal. I tend to be heavy handed to get all the crap off the glass. Maybe I helped the aging process?

I use a simple microfiber cloth but I was wondering the same I seem to be a little heavy handed about getting all the smudges off and I do this before I wear mine each time.

Good work! Enjoy!

Do they actually recoat crystals? Or would they have just replaced it?

My thinking is....if there was a flaw with a used crystal, surely the high temp sputter process would compromise the crystal?

...just guessing here!

Beautiful!

I've always loved that watch. So sleek and stealthy.

Breitling always replace hands - they are designed to be single use.

Yes, they did replace the hands. In regards to the sapphire crystal, the description of the performed work indicated, "cambered sapphire crystal glareproofed both sides". I'm not sure what this means (and hate to report that I didn't even ask the question). The crystal was 10 years old and looked it, so I figured I would treat myself this "extra" (I will say it wasn't cheap at $226.80). Someone more experienced than myself could answer what the glass work would include. All told, I was very happy with the watch when returned and will continue to send it back for regular service.

I really like the look of that SuperOcean after the full service. Nice to hear about someone getting full use out of their Breitling.

The new crystal will just be the removal of the old one and the insertion of the new crystal - it's cambered (curved) rather than flat to add strength (for water resistance) and as usual Breitling puts the anti reflective (AR) coating on both the outside and inside of the crystal.
