Now what is it they say? "It's not the equipment, it's the..."

It's been a long while since I held a camera up to my eye...and even longer since I put my darkroom in storage. Oh the wonders of digital

The interesting thing (to me!) about the Panerai 'sandwich' dial is that there's a huge disc of luminous material behind the dial which has the numbers cut out of it - this gives a whopping amount of shine at night!

(But that's what it was designed to do - as these are primarily divers watches, and one of the design requirements was that there were readable in total obscurity - imagine, 20 meters down, and at night!)

Great shots! Thank you for sharing. Reminds me of how smugly satisfied I was this morning at 6:15 a.m. when I awakened and took a look at the EVO. The lume was still bright enough for great clarity. Gotta love SuperLuminova! 8)
Cheers,
Ron

Quite amazing how much of a difference the sandwich dial of the 219 is compared to the 253.

Mind you, the hands on Breitlings are both pretty decent too.
