Great watches Ian. The Destro with the display back is awesome, if it had a date I would be on it in a second.

By the way, did you take a photography cource or something? Great pics!!! what method are you using?

Thanks for the compliments guys.

No, no photography lessons - just didn't have the setup suitable until now - that and the fact that I've only recently purchased a digital relex after many many years with non-numeric cameras.

I love the left-handed Destro 219! I am a big fan of simple dials, without complications. This kind of reminds me of the new Breitling clock on the dashboard of the Bentley GT (I think GT model). I know it isn't in keeping with Breitlings model line, but I wish they would do a watch that resembles that clock! The design of that Destro 219 has me itching to go and look at one, except I wouldn't know where to start. I will look at their website, and see if they have any dealers in the Vancouver area.
I am really not a big fan of chronographs for myself, although I almost got a Blackbird. This is simply because Bretiling does such an outstanding job on chronographs, and the Blackbird is quite unique even within the Breitling lineup.
Thanks for the wonderful pics!
Cheers,
Carl

Thanks - for info, there were 400 of the 219 produced in 2007 (model series 'J') so if you are able to find one still in a dealer you'll have to buy it immediately! In addition given that there are 450 dealers worldwide...

Seriously, you may be able to find an 'I' series (2006) second hand - take a look at the paneristi.com site.

Thanks for the info. I just looked at the website, and the cost for a new one would be over 5 grand here. There is a dealer in Vancouver, so I might go have a look. I would have to get a second-hand one as I can't afford the price of a new one.
Thanks,
Carl

What set up you talking about? You holding out on me

If you know of a recource or guide I could read, do share.

Well we call it 'numerique' here and I don't know how to describe it otherwise. I just mean all the Hasselblads and Nikon and Leica gear that I don't use anymore...

In terms of the 'setup' I've simply built myself a box with a sloping (curved) back to eliminate shadows and a translucent top (to diffuse the light) - just need to fine tune the settings on the camera and I'll be off...

MARVELLOUS !!!!

these are amazing shots and of course amazing watches...i am a big fan of Panerai.

Have u ever considered swaping the leather straps on ur chronos, i.e. black dial with brown strap and white dial with black strap. Panerai is very famous of being even more beautiful on the black dial and brown leather strap combination :D
