Post subject:  3-D model of Colt GMT

Heres a couple of pics of a 3-D model my son did recently, having taken all dimensions from the real thing. Part of a University course assignment, modelled with Alias, rendered with Maxwell, via Rhino.

:yeahthat Only just seen this - the bracelet in particular is indeed superbly rendered! Looks like it has real weight to it.

His homage to the Colt GMT took approx 130 hours, and he e-mailed me the pictures with obvious pride...what did I do ? I told him the chrono hand was too thin :) He wasnt happy. So I posted it here to make ammends.

Wow! Beautiful work! Better than the one I have on my front page that my buddy did. I don't think he took nearly as much time, however. :)

Damn.. That truly is some nice work. I'd love to make a big ass wallpaper out of that.

That is very impressive! Especially for a student, I would think a pro did that job. The luminosity work is superb!! Gives the model that realistic feel. Dial looks nice.

It might be 100 percent accurate to the original but the attention to detail makes the rendered image look like a photo! Well done indeed!
