Well I never thought a Rolex would be one of my most beloved pieces, but there you go. Rolex finally hit a home run with a great watch.

It is hard to believe that the same company that came out with the datejust and jubilee bracelet could come out with such a well made bracelet, nothing flimsy here. Oh and the adjustment mechanism is nothing short of genius!

What lens are you using for these shots? They looks bloody fantastic!

EDIT - Just noticed they were taken with a D700 (nice I use D80).. but is it the 105mm Macro?

Right on both counts. D700 with a 105MM Micro Nikkor. love that combo!! In my opinion the 105MM is a no brainer, its built like a tank, it takes amazing macros and absolutely fantastic portraits due to the focal length. My 85mm 1.4 is collecting dust these days unless I am in really lousy lighting or want extreme dof control, it has a wide f2.8 aperture, VRII, fast focusing and double as a medium telephoto for sports or nature in a pinch, and it can be had for half of what a pro zoom costs!

So that's the lens which I need.

Am using a Nikon D80 w/ 18-55mm and its ok.. but I cant get super sharp pictures.

And if I do, only part of the image is nice and sharp. Ill look into the 105mm. :)

If all rolexes where photographed like that I might actually start liking them. Amazing photography. Nice watch, one of the only rolexes I like.

Beautiful photos of a beautiful watch! I must say that there are a couple of Rolexes that really appeal to me. Your DSSD, the Milgauss (with green crystal) and the Air King. I know a lot of people think the Milgauss is too green, but I personally love it. I am really into the simplest watches, and this one is, to me, a winner. The DSSD is an amazing watch, I actually did see and feel one in person, and was very impressed. Built like a tank.
Congatulations!
Cheers,
Carl
