Sir, I salute you. :brit

(It's at this point that I think we should apologise to Gazruss for shamlessly hijacking his thread with all this nonsense! Oops sorry mate! )

Yeah, sorry Gazruss -- now back to more important matters!
Driver, I had no idea your venom has spread so wide and
deep. Sometimes I feel as if I'm the only person on this website
still capable of fighting the good fight -- even if I'm not "a gentleman." :)
Not to be grandiose, but I sometimes see myself as Winston Smith
doing battle with Big Brother. But that's another story. Can't
talk more now -- I'm off to the local Scrabble club for a bit of
relaxation. But I just want you to know that the fight is still on. Can't wait for the next round.

Anarchy  Steve

I can assure you - the thing that comes after aligned bezels is a sane and peaceful life, without any disturbancies. However, I'm starting to consider if I should match the wifes outfit to the color of my present watch.

Oh no, the soul was sold way back. That's the way to finance any Breitling.

Aleister,

It's with a heavy heart that I key in this final message
regarding the Great Battle. You and Driver and those thousands
of lost souls with perfectly aligned bezels have won. I
know when it's time to cut and run, and the time is now. If you
will permit me one final comparison, I understand how poor Don
Quixote felt when those windmills refused to fall. :( Was mine
a lost battle? No, never, for there were moments of triumph,
of glory, when I felt sure the truth would reign victorious. :) But
I was kidding myself, I guess. I think you and your demonic
black prince, Driver, knew all along that your hold on the minds
and souls of most Breitling wearers was never really challenged.

So I must now take my leave (I'm speaking figuratively, though
I'm sure you and Driver would be delighted if I disappeared altogether  ).
No, I will remain active in this forum. My small voice will still be
heard whenever I see evil or injustice masquerading
in the guise of "advice". And finally, I tell you with great pride that
the bezels on my watches will never be perfectly aligned!

Steve

Poor Gazruss,

You were but a pawn in this neverending game of Good vs Evil
between Driver and me. You have no reason to feel guilty. The battle
will no doubt continue in some other form, some other venue, but you
will be safe and secure in the knoweledge that your bezel is now perfectly
aligned. :? Enjoy your watch.

Steve

Come on, Roffensian, you and your partners in evil have won the
battle (for the moment); there's no need to continue to spew your
poison. When I hear such outbursts, I'm reminded of Sarah Palin
going off on a mindless rant about...well, anything! :? Let it rest. Let
the poor fellow enjoy his Seawolf with no feelings of guilt or inadequacy. :|

I understand, my friend. I suppose we all bear that weight -- except
for Driver, of course, who is perfect!! Forgive me, Gazruss, I
lost control for a moment...

Anyway, I think owning such a magnificent timepiece can be a
great help in reducing the weight. :) So enjoy...

Sorry, old man,

But when it comes to explaining things to wives, I'm way out of
my depth. Good luck anyway.

Gosh at the hands of the frankly disturbingly named Mr Drax, I've been compared to a "demonic black prince" (that's pretty bad), the "quintessential essence of evil" (now that's getting a bit stronger), the "Darth Vader of the watch world" (OK, that's just getting mean!), and finally "Sarah Palin"!!! Now that really is the last straw!!! I mean, it's been literally days since I last shot a poor defenceless wolf from the comfort of a nice cosy helicopter!

Fortunately though, one comment was quite correct - "I suppose we all bear that weight - except for Driver, of course, who is perfect". Well you heard it here first folks. :D

Incidentally if normality (of bezel position, that is) is judged by the majority, then in our little world of (let's face it) quite badly deranged individuals, Anarchy-Steve is a lone voice in the wilderness. But fear not - come back to the fold and you'll be alone no more. Ahhhhh.

By the way, as we all know, Hugo Drax was a Bond villain with plans of wiping out the majority (i.e. all humans on Earth) to start his own master-race. I'm seeing strange comparisons here..... incitement to anarchy by encouraging people to live by their own rules to "start afresh" - check..... a benign appearance, playing the part of a knight in shining armour rallying against the "old world order", while secretly plotting dastardly deeds - check....... Hmmmmmm. Add to that some clear attempts to deflect his villainy by calling the good-guys evil, and we get a disturbing picture. The message is clear - one tiny forey into what seems like freedom may have disasterous consequences. Insideous plot starts small. Keep strong people, keep your bezels strong in the face of temptation. Don't let us slip into anarchy one bezel click at a time!

Good people, I leave you with a list of other namesakes -

Drax the Destroyer - Marvel comics.... gotta be a baddie with a name like that.
Drax the Invulnerable - Dungeons & Dragons game..... you guessed it, a villain!
Drax the Timelord - Doctor Who TV series..... and I quote "Drax was supposed to use the shrinking beam on the Mute, but deliberately misaims and shrinks the Doctor instead".

I rest my case.

Irrelevant? I'd say that misaligned bezels are highly relevant.
