I am really beginning to love the Skyland, it is such a nice watch. Looks great with the red strap also. Congrats

I snapped a photo of a white SA with this red OR on it at my AD today... I´ll try to upload a lousy phone-cam pic later...

For sure! There is NO comparison.

The dealer I spoke to said they were told the Red got the plug pulled due to bleeding issues with the pigment. Have you noticed anything?

I have not noticed anything yet but I have not worn it enough in the daylight yet! It's probably the same as cars, I always notice that red coloured cars always seem to fade more dramatically than any other car. I don't know why this is I'm sure someone here will know! I'll keep you updated and if I notice anything I'll let you know but I suppose it will take a bit of time.

Sorry, the picture I mentioned above was beyond bad, so I won´t upload it. I can however assure you that it looks cool if you like your colors bright and your watches large at the same time!

Yes, I do know that as I worked in the paint industry earlier... :) In the old days the color pigments contained a lot of lead and other "nasty" components. These were making the paint very tough, both regarding staying in color but also tough on the environment.

Then, starting in the 80's, the car companies started to get more environmental oriented and requested alternatives to the "bad" paints. When these were developped (or actually, when the new pigments were developped) especially the red one was quite expensive. Of course, the car companies tried to decrease the cost and they were cheap on the amount of red pigments. That, and the fact that the new pigments still were the first/second generation (and therefore not as good as they should have been) causes cars from the 80's to mid/end of 90's to fade in their red color. With a car bought from 2000 and later you really shouldn't see this problem unless someone have goofed while painting the car.

Great picture Mario!

So the camera does lie! That looks more like the colour when it is on my wrist. I don't know why it looks slightly off-colour in the pics. My photo skills are not great but I did notice that the pic on the other thread of the Red OR that somebody had taken was a bit off-colour too. So anybody outhere looking at the above picture that In2Deep has restored, that is closer to the colour in reality! :D

It's more of a lighting issue than a camera issue. Pick up one of the following and you'll look like a pro ;)
