Had this watch for almost a year. My daily wearer for most of that time. I know there are tons and tons of Speedy pics around, but I still want to share some of mine:

First day with my Speedy:

Gents Omega ring. Currently, the only gents ring made by Omega. Shows the contrast of polished/brushed surfaces - and also scratches - on the stainless steel ring. Got it when the Boutique opened in Vancouver in 2009:

One of my favourites. Shows the hairline scratches on the hesalite crystal:

A walk in the park:

Last but not by any means least, "Dear Old Dad". We watched the moon landing together in 1969:

Many more pics of course. One of the most photogenic watches ever. Hope I didn't post too many. Hope you enjoy looking at them.

Cheers,
Carl

I remember your retrospecitve of your father a few months ago, maybe it was when you bought this. Thanks to my still-vivid memory of the time and a few youtube clips out there, I can still hear the into music in my head for the space mission coverage that drew me to the television as a child. The Speedy is still on my list of pieces I need to own. Enjoy.

I had a Mark II vintage awhile back. Essentially same watch but in a tonneau case. It was nice but I sold it because A: I needed the money at that time and B: I really wanted to re-do the Speedy in the collection to this one.

I'm still debating whether later to go with a 145.022 vintage or yours, gut as you say... same watch.

Tough choices.
